    Question Sway bar links replaced

    Hi, I just starting driving my car after it sat for almost three months and noticed some noises at low speeds. The dealership found that the sway bar links were worn out, and replaced them under warranty at 26,100 miles. My car is almost 4 years old and with low mileage - isn't it too soon for these parts to be worn out?

    Do they use a lot of road salt where you live? If I remember right the end links are composite. 11K on my 16 and no noises.

    Wow. Your's got even lower mileage!
    I mean they use salt, but nothing crazy. I am very picky and try to keep my car clean to avoid deterioration due to salt, but I guess that could be the reason.

    I just replaced mine (2013, 30k miles). As far as I can tell, the joint and the rubber were fine but the corrosion on studs was horrible (NY car). I stripped the internal hex removing one while doing struts, and decided to just replace both based on how bad the one I destroyed was. Its a 6 mm hex (not that little), but it rounded out like nothing. Must be some truly crap metal.
