    Oddly enough, my niece had the same thing going on with her older Honda CRV.
    From my brother:
    ~~~~~~~~~
    "It is interesting - Amanda changes her oil on a regular basis but was not in the habit of
    checking it on a regular basis, and her car has around 225k miles, and she was having
    some drive-ability issues and at times, the car would go into limp mode. It turns out that
    she was very low on oil! There were a couple of codes, and they guy called and said that
    it looked like most of them were derived from devices that operate on oil pressure and were
    not functioning properly. They changed the oil, cleared the codes, and replaced one sensor
    and things were all fixed. "
    I think checking the reason the oil filter cover was leaking would be in order, before blaming the factory canister. It could have simply been a sloppy job by the last person to change oil.
    Ditto.... the rubber gasket might have had a kink in it.
    There was no kink or deformity in the gasket when I did an oil & filter change last weekend.
    It was in the groove and the old filter cover was on tight.
    I did not see an obvious crack in the plastic cover but replaced it anyway.
    A new metal cap with a fresh gasket and a fresh filter are in place with the pressure relief valve installed inside and the problem is gone.
    Thanks all who responded.
