    Formula 1 2020---will contain SPOILERS

Happy New Year F1 fans! Even though it's the first day of the new year and we have months to go before the first race, there is some news today. Alfa Romeo has announced Robert Kubica as their reserve driver for the year, and at the same time state that Polish petroleum company Orlen has become a team sponsor for this year. While his driving results last year with Williams were nothing to write home about, it's a still a huge victory for Kubica to be back in F1 at all following his terrible car crash years ago. Good luck to him.

The F1 website has a good list of things to look forward to in 2020, so my summary would be that this year is the final year of the current engine and other rules, so 2021 will likely bring a big change in teams at the front, lots of drivers will be up for new contracts in 21, so it will be an interesting transition time for F1. With top drivers like Hamilton, Vettel, Verstappen, and many others in the final year of their contracts, well, we'll probably still have another Mercedes dominant year, but hopefully it will still produce some great racing.

The Haas team should be able to recover, but then again all the other midfield teams are looking to move up as well, McLaren, Renault, Alfa Romeo, Racing Point, Toro Rosso. With Mercedes, Red Bull, and Ferrari at the front, I'll predict Williams remains last, with all those guys in the middle having some great battles again this year.

Well...the title of SPOILERS about race results isn't gonna happen any time soon!

Like the rest of the world, the F1 folks are on hold, who knows when it will start or what 2020 will look like. The biggest update is that due to the virus, the long awaited major change to regulations for 2021 has now been postponed to 2022. I was really looking forward to at least having a great battle for the championship, meaning, someone other than Mercedes winning! But hey, I'm just an Italian car fan, so I'll root for Ferrari anyway.

You can watch the recap of last season with the Netflix series. I liked it.

At least seven F1 teams and the Dyson Corp. are working on ventilator solutions, so if they can’t race, at least they’ll be saving lives
When that’s done, maybe they’ll start an online race league like NASCAR has.

Its no where close to F1, but I have been enjoying both the F1 rewinds that have been coming out on YouTube, and some of the sim racing. Haven't really liked the Virtual GP yet, too many celebrities who can't drive on the grid. But the "Real Racers never quit" series has been fairly good, with both Lando and Max participating.

I actually have enjoyed watching these, but only the latest ones. The ones pre 2020 aren't nearly as good IMHO.

The 2nd F1 sim race will be tomorrow Sunday April 5th, will be on ESPN2 believe it or not from what I saw on Facebook this morning!

I even watched a marble race on YouTube, it was halfway entertaining!

nothing big to report in F1, best guess so far is starting the season in July, with the first races run with no spectators. Stay healthy, wash your hands!

The no spectators will kind of stink, but man they are talking about 15-18 races compressed down to 5 months. That will be pretty cool (unless the excessive strain and demands only increases the gap from Mercedes to everyone else)
