Congratulations! Good luck with the move. Hope it all goes smoothly and is not too stressful.

Good luck with the move. That's always exciting. I unpacked the last of my boxes last month and found some stuff I'd forgotten I owned... been packed away since 1991.

I got 29 years of stuff, bicycles, cameras, vintage radio’s, toys, die cast cars, pedal cars. Lots of boxes. That I will probably never see again. We need to have a estate sale. At the new home now. Watching all my ladies unpack boxes. The internet service here is really fast.

That's rough. Sound like some cool stuff. I have a lot of stuff too. I've never thrown away any car magazine I've ever bought (unless it got totally destroyed). Decades of Road & Track, Car and Driver, Motor Trend, Road Test Magazine, Car Craft, you name it. Tons of old car parts, books, scale models, militaria and other stuff my wife considers junk. LOL.

An estate sale is a good idea. I should do one myself before my wife starts tossing stuff while I'm not looking.

All my car magazines finally went the big automotive publishing house, in the sky. Keeping them all these years. Just never really looked at them. Sad it was there time.

Yeah, hate to see them go. Lots of memories and good times. Couldn't wait to get home from school and see a cool magazine waiting for me. I confess that I still buy some vintage ones.

I do use them for the blog and here, so I can justify that somewhat. I also enjoy refreshing my memory. They did come in handy back around 2010 when I worked on a project with Fiat USA and sent them over 100 brochures, Road Tests and ads so the team could get up to speed on the selling points and attributes of the older classics.

I still use these magazines and brochures to answer questions, so I do get some use out of them. Fun going down memory lane.

The ads in the mags were sometimes as much fun as the articles. I remember seeing that second ad before and used it as an example of bad choice; showing a crunched car then the driver on a stretcher. It was used as a poorly modeled ad in a class. Replacing the stretcher with a guy in a lounge chair being fanned "back to life" was a suggestion, followed by the unibody left, crash on right.

People read pictures first. Showing your car crunched, driver in critical condition on a stretcher, is not the message they intended, I'm sure.

That's funny. I never looked at that ad like that.

Maybe it was because I read too many comic books. Fiat's ad agents seemed better in Europe.

The fiat ads in the 70s here were generally good. Commercials with the stunts and Remy Julienne were pretty legendary. The last commercials in the 80s were corny.
