    Morning all

douglawrence42 growing up we had a husky( this is my 3rd one ) and when it would snow we would tie her leash to our sleds and she would pull us up the huge hill in my parents back yard. Her alone was able to pull 100-150 lb kids up the hill almost all day long. She would sleep super long every time it snowed

I also remember one winter it snowed enough that we made an igloo out front of our house, she didn't come inside for a whole week. She slept in that igloo till it collapsed.

I'm fully anticipating it being nearly impossible to bring Cookie inside when its snowing as well.

    I totally missed this yesterday.

Yeah, the Corgi doesn't like the Abarth, but I think the bumper is too tall for her to jump with her tiny legs anyway so we lift her in and she seems fine inside the car, just not standing in front of the exhaust.

Cookie is still moldable, have the car running and lure them towards the hatch, and then into the car if you can. Gotta flip that fear into "well if dad says it's OK!"

Cookie is/was fine in the wiefys car (dirt quiet passat (automatic)) I'm not sure if it's the noise, the stick, or the size. Like you said tho, I can still get her to enjoy car rides. I want to get her better in them cause I want her to tag along to car shows

Yeah, it sounds like she doesn't like the "growl" of the exhaust, or maybe the jerkiness of the Abarth. You could try hand feeding her one of the meals in the Fiat, first not running then later with it idling. When she's willing to get in the car, drive her around the block then make an excited home re-entry, and breakfast. I put down a padded cover in the rear of my 500, with dog pillows.

I've gone thru that with gun dogs, who are afraid of guns. We'd skip breakfast and take a ride to the gun range around noon, when most trap shooting was going on. We'd sit on the PU tail gate until the pup calmed, then I'd hand feed kibble. It had an unexpected affect on one Lab-x. She'd hear guns shooting and start drooling.

I’m am definitely bored at work. While every thing is shutting down, I have just been dubbed “Essential Employee” by the DOL. No working from home for me.

What is DOL? It can be worse. A molar crown decided to shatter on Sunday. It can't be fixed (state law) until this is all over.

Good to hear from you. Yeah, that's a bummer. I'm an "essential" employee too. Lucky us! How's your Crosstrek going?

I think Department of Labor? Probably wrong. Man, that stinks. Good luck with your crown.

My ABARTH has been sitting in my garage for about 2 weeks.

Have a cat coming in the mail soon.

Question: Is there going to be a significant issue in the near future with used EVs sitting around in lots?

We've discussed drained batteries numerous times on the forum, including the fancy batteries in the 500e. In short, it's not good to allow an EV to completely drain its battery, it's even worse to allow it to sit for long periods of time with a drained battery. Meanwhile, some dealers can't even be bothered to keep charge in their 12V batteries on the showroom floor. cough*hyundai*cough

So how long does a used car (or even new for that matter) sit on a lot before it is purchased? This strikes me as an even more hazardous situation in cold climates. What happens when someone shells out cash for a lightly used EV and the battery has lost half of it's original capacity from sitting around?

A worst case barn find fossil car needs new fluids, new 12V battery, a bunch of new internal seals and gaskets, and then it's good to go. A barn find EV (yes this will be a thing in the future) needs a new battery pack, guaranteed, don't even try to charge the existing one. Sure, in 30 years it might not be an issue with advances in battery construction/efficiency/recycling but it sure as hell feels like a problem for the next 10 years.

    Thoughts?
