That looks like fun. I'll have to dig out my son's old car and see about getting a new battery for it. It's been sitting on a shelf for the last 20 years, IIRC. He talked his mom into spending something like $200 on it, then raced it half a dozen times.
I started flying small electric planes a while back. Just when I was getting decent (having "lost" one plane to a plane-eating-tree, another when it just flew away) the state closed all the parks where I flew. I might just take off tomorrow to give them another go.

if it is 20 years old, it might be hard to find a battery that works for it. it might be eaiser to convert to a 2 or 3 cell lipo battery with brushless.... but then also the gears and driveshafts are probably plastic since the older stuff never had quite the power the modern ones do.
also I had some airplanes and helicopters but I hardly had them for more than one flight... those pesky landings![]()

My week is going fantastic. Monday we signed off closing papers, on our old home. It sold a couple weeks ago. It sold in less then 24 hours. Made $6,000 over asking price. The new people are really excited about taking possession. They are to close tomorrow. I get a big fat check, for Christmas from that. To pay off the brand new house, that we just built.
Life is really good! Debt free again.

Congrats! It's a great time to be debt free, once again.
They have *really* accelerated the paperwork on closing, it sounds like. When I bought my current home 30 years ago, it took 6+ weeks to wrap everything up... signing to closing. Fortunately the PO let us in a couple weeks before closing, so we could do all the preliminary cleaning and painting. Moving was really easy. I just dumped stuff in the U-Haul and drove 5 blocks to the new house... no need for much packing.
