The nicest looking 500X to date. $27k? Would be nice offering a sunroof for that price.

Lots of small crossover competition out there.....

Crosstrex, Soul, Kicks, HRZ, Kona, Countryman, Encore, CX3, Rogue, C-HR, Tucson, and more.

I like to save $1,500 bucks, on the 500X. Drop the AWD. I live in the snow belt too.

Agree with everything except they should have bumped the HP just a tad. Nice round 200 would work for me :-) Otherwise yes...best looking to date (esp in red).

Should’ve bumped the horse power a lot. Naysayers on here keep telling me it doesn’t matter but it’s gotten slower and all of the competition get faster. If I have to lower myself to driving an automatic it’s going be in a really fast car.
16 500X Pop, Rosso, 1.4T/M6, 18 O.Z. 45th Anniversary wheels, H&R springs, Momo shift knob, K&N drop in, MPX Throttle Body, Deyeme Racing CDV delete, Magnaflow (Renegade) cat-back with custom 2.5 B-pipe by http://stagefp.com/, ATP Highflow downpipe.

    13 500 Abarth, Bianco, M5,
17, Koni shocks, Eibach Prokit, CFP Hats, ES/EC bumpstops and seats, Powerstop rotors and pads, K&N drop in. (Wife's)

    95 Wrangler, Aqua, 4.0/Auto,
33 on 15x8, 4 lift, too much to list here (Also Hers)

Then you shouldn't be looking at a FIAT.

The Soul GT got a HP increase. Over 200 hp. It’s only equipped with FWD. A major competitor. Fiat should have bumped up the horse power, at that price range.

Yep, gotta love the HP of the Soul GT-Line w/ optional turbo, if you can find one. On all our dealer lots they are special order only and the standard Soul has 147 HP... wasn't impressed when I test drove and didn't want to buy the turbo model sight-unseen. The turbo accelerates quicker than the Abarth... shaving a full second off 0-60, per specs.

For sportiness, reviewers recommend the CX-3 or Kona. On acceleration, the CX-3 isn't quicker than the 2020 500X, but is more refined, they say.

I live in the Mid-Hudson Valley, about 60 miles north of NYC, a FWD CUV/SUV is not an option around here. People commute to the city and with all the mountains and hills, between a car with AWD and FWD, people pick AWD. You can see that in resale value of a CUV/SUV with only FWD in this area. I was a sales manager at a dealership and FWD versions are pretty much worthless compared to a comparable AWD car. The only way to sell a FWD SUV is to discount it substantially compared to an identical AWD SUV. For 90% of anyone buying a SUV, going with AWD in this area (likely any northern area with mountains) will pay if resale value is a concern.

Getting back to the car, I've just spent a week driving the new 500X and regardless of what some magazine says a 0-60 time is, the car is substantially peppier to drive in real world driving conditions. The extra torque and transmission performance compared to our old 500X is night and day. The transmission is seamless now, and no longer do you feel the different types of shift qualities depending on which gear you are going into and out of. The engine is definitely an upgrade in performance and driveability over the old one.

I live 2 blocks over from a FCA dealership. That is where I purchase my 500 from. They sold off the Fiat franchise. To make room for more Jeeps and Ram truck. At any time, that dealership, has 250-300 new Jeep vehicles on the lot. At stopped traffic light, shopping center, any parking lot here. There are Jeeps everywhere. How is the Fiat brand going to compete with the Jeep brand, or any other small crossover. Why does the public buy a Renegade, over a 500X. Both share the same architecture platform. When they introduced the 500X in 2016. Fiat advertisers the heck out of that car. I still remember the ground hog spot. Didn’t help sales wise. I remember the Renegade theme song even better.

We will get here sometimes, 8-12” of snow. The snow road crew will have our roads cleared the next day. I once owned 2 Jeeps, they were kind of a waste. It was fun passing everyone, when we had a fresh new snow fall.
