    Your oil will get dark and it will happen very rapidly. As someone said, a dark bourbon color with dirtier gold than new border on the dipstick is what your looking for. Asbolutly black death doesnt neccesarily mean the oil is too old, doesn't mean its lost it properties, but points to other issues causing above average contamination of oil.
