    Ford Mustang Mach E

I would have never thought Ford would produce, a EV Mustang. With the shape of a small crossover. I bet they have a hit EV car here. Look out Tesla, lots of competition out there.

It's Ford, they use the name any way they think it will make money.

You can make a very nice electric car, but that's been true for over a hundred years. My dad has one. You cannot make an automotive transportation system based on EV's.

I spent 20 years living in an urban area where nobody even had a garden hose, let alone some way to charge a car. I can imagine people up and down the street hanging extension cords out the window of their third story apartments.

I live in the country now for the past 30 years and while I have a 2 car garage, I have three cars in it, 2 classics and my wife's Stelvio. So if I got an electric car, I'd have to run an extension cord outside in the inclement NY weather? Please stop. So many people around here and I'm sure all over the country have so much stuff in their garage that they'd be in the same boat.

I wonder how practical these EVs are really for the average buyer? I also wonder if the powers that are forcing this technology upon us really have a clue on how normal people live?

honestly I dont like it. Sure Ev are good for some, but I dont like how it seem like they are pushing EVs. As of today I am not buying one, I have seen too many problems. they dont like cold weather, my brother lives in MN, and his friend who live next to him Has a tesla model S, parks his car outside, well it was -50 in a bad snow storm. Well the next day his doors were frozen shut, and he tried to do remote start. It didnt work, the batteries were frozen. So having high paying office job it was important to get to work so he had to get a cab to work then got a rental. He told me who knew keeping your car warm was a thing. Plus he had to get his batteries replaced due to the weather and Tesla said"we wont replace them because they are not faulty. it cost his $12,500. It drives me crazy that this guy is really crazy about tesla, saying that all car compaies need to be like tesla and tesla should be the monopoly of the car business. Also speaking of them I was watching a youtube video (Freelance) who showed young guys and young girls who buy tesla who should be buying 19-25K cars. They buy 55-70K tesla s or 3 and 5-9 months later they have to sell them to save their wallets. Turns out the sales staff say "oh you dont pay for gas, dont pay for repairs, so someone who can afford a $19,500 now can buy a $60,000 car.We are the best company there is because we allow people to have much nicer and cooler cars they would have before"

so I am not a fan of them but, I dont know the EV movement right now. Sure for some it works, but I think the car business would be better putting the effort towards other forms of energy like Hydrogen, diesel, corn power or gas.

I don’t believe EV’s are going away. Norway a very cold climate. Has a large inter structure of EV charging station. All across European too, and also the Chinese market. Ford, and Tesla, are introducing large EV pickup trucks. VW has announced, it’s Chattanooga Tennessee automotive plant. Will only produce its new EV vehicles. I live in a Midwest city. Tesla’s are wall to wall here. Most individuals don’t purchase EV’s. They lease them. I’ve seen here, a few used 500’s running around. European have Employed charging stations in urban areas. Unlike North American cities where do you plug one of these guys in.

I own basically all small cars, except the new Accord Touring. I think my next purchase with be one of the high milage EV’s.

The issue is time. An automobile is a transportation device that hauls its energy source around stored in some chunk of matter. Fossil fuels are just matter that has old solar energy already stored in it. Gasoline is energy dense and easily portable. EV's use an empty chunk of matter that must have the energy put into it, and since it's a lot of energy it will take a lot of time. Any attempt at rapid charging means very high instantaneous energy transfer rates (power), which entail large losses. This is even with perfect, ideal batteries, and there is no way out of it. And of course the energy comes almost entirely from fossil fuels anyway.

So you can do this on an individual basis, or a small percentage of the population, but on a systemic basis it cannot work. Go stand at a Sheetz or other giant gas station for a day and picture every 5min fill up extended into hours - and now extend that to every vehicle across the nation, every day. Gasoline & diesel do not require this time because you are not storing the energy in it, that was already done millions of years ago - you are simply moving it. EV's can be useful in certain scenarios, especially when other transportation systems are available (urban mass transit, European train/tram systems, etc.) but you cannot make an American-style automobile-only transportation system work with something that requires such a time for recharging.

Another electric car with a 12” iPad as the control hub. Last thing I want to do is swipe at 75mph. I don’t even want to swipe at 10mph. Knobs and buttons are safer, and work. Now Get Of My Lawn!

Button and knobs....... There’s some confusing buttons and knobs out there too.
