Cool. Some interesting cars there. i always liked the Swift.

In the 70s I wanted to be a car designer and one of the concepts I came up with looked remarkably like the Swift. I liked small cars, and my design had a very similar greenhouse treatment and overall shape. It differed in having a front influenced by the Porsche 928 with only a small lower grille opening below slim headlights. It was also sloped the opposite way of the Sift and the rear wheel arch openings were not round, but carried the character / moulding line straight through to the bumper. The engine was transverse, but turned around so it was behind the center-line of the front wheel for a lower hood line. The spare tire was also stored under the hood for more passenger space.

Yes. In this country the Chevy Sprint was replaced by the Suzuki Swift by the late 80s. The squared off look of the Sprint was replaced by the rounded body Swift. The base Chevy Sprint was 3 cyl and 52 hp and the Turbo was 70 hp. Car was 1600 lbs so 70 hp made it scoot. With the drivers door open you could watch the vibration from the 3 cyl which smoothed out as soon as you rev it. 45 mpg was common on the base 3 cyl and the Turbo was getting 40-42 mpg highway.

The Suzuki Swift in the picture had a 1300cc Twin Cam 4 cyl that made 100hp. Suzuki cars are all about the engines. The Chevy Sprint Turbo was $7999 and was also made by Suzuki. Paid another $700 for an aftermarket company to install AC.

I drove the Sprint Turbo to 22K miles then sold it to a friend who drove it all over USA (racetracks) and Canada and added another 100K miles until he hit a deer on Route 80 in NJ and that was the end of that. So yeah...you can put miles on them.

Car had its own look in the greenhouse. Almost a bubble look. I wasn't in love with the Teal color...but it was the last one left and I had just totaled my Eagle Talon and needed a car :-)

This Ferrari 360 Modena is the only previous car I really regret not keeping. Fantastic performance, great looks, and the excitement of owning/driving a Ferrari which is something which you can't get from any other brand.

This Alfa Spider was good looking, but heavy and didn't handle well. It was also very unreliable. It often failed to start and the top often would not go up. It was a stylish cruiser though.

This BMW was nice, but expensive to repair and it had only moderate performance. It looked good though.

This Fiat Grand Punto was a great car with tons of performance, good handling, and it was a ball to drive. The color was Roso Passionale.

I rebuilt this MGB from a pile of junk. It was a typical British sports car; i.e. a real piece of crap.......low performance, poor reliability, outdated design features, bad handling, and the top took half an hour to put up. Parts were cheap and it was easy to work on.

This $4000 Dodge Magnum had a $5000 paint job. I installed coil overs, heavy anti roll bars, big wheels and tires, etc. It outhandled my BMW by a mile, but unfortunately it did NOT have a hemi engine; therefore, it was more of a fancy looking cruiser than any kind of muscle car.

I don't have pictures of most of mine so I'll just list some of them. My first car at 16 years old was a 1963 Austin-Healey Sprite. After that, 1967 Sprite, 1972 Capri V-6 4 speed, 1968 AMC Javelin, 1969 Renault R10, many VW's, 1972 Triumph TR-6, 1976 Triumph Spitfire (current ), 1972 Land Rover Ser 3 88" (current), 2002 Land Rover Freelander, 1996 Land Rover Discovery (current), 2002 Discovery, and my very modded 13' Fiat 500 Sport. The Capri was a great little car.
