You might want to go to your local stereo stores and take a listen for yourself. Sound is subjective and each brand sounds somewhat different. Put some of your music on a "stick" and listed for yourself. The "highest recommended" speaks sounded a bit reedy to me. (They had stiff cones to stand up under high power.) I went with 2-ways in the $100 price range... most brands will sound good with low powered amps. caviat: For high power amps, you may want higher $ speaks. Components are $20 to $50 higher, matching the 2-ways in back.

I would recommend component speaks in front, and route the tweets to the column location. Alternatively, buy 2-way speakers for all 4 corners and leave the factory column speaks disconnected. While you have the panels off, adding sound deadening is a good idea. Even the factory speaks sound much better after turning the door into a speaker housing. Don't forget to put the foam rings back on the face of the speaks or some of your sound will be lost behind the panel.

I can’t really recommend one. You could call the folks at Crutchfield audio. They offer a wide range of speakers. Listening speakers in a store doesn’t always Represent how they will sound in the car. Different acoustics.

The other issue, does your 500X have the Beats system installed.

    The choices are vast.

    Car speakers:
    Lower rear door - 178
    Dash corner - 11
    Front door - 98

Once you figure out the sizes, look for something efficient. Unless you use an actual aftermarket amplifier, you’ll want something at least low 90’s “sensitivity”. Stock speakers are usually extremely efficient to play louder with less. If you buy too hefty of a speaker, they won’t play as loud or accurately.

Good advice. Even if later upgrading the amp, they'll work well and you won't need as big an amp. Crutchfield is a great place to see what's available, and get a good price. Unlike years past, their advisers are pretty much useless, IMO... recommending the most expensive units, instead of most appropriate.

I have a 2016 POP, had a car stereo shop put in Rockford Fosgate component speakers in front & 300 watt 12 inch sub behind the rear seats.
left the rear speakers as stock on the guys advice. i'm very happy with the sound 4 years going.
