    Multimedia shuts down immediately

Hi, is this the normal behavior of Fiat 500, that when you turn the engine off - multimedia shuts down immediately? In every other car it remains on until you open the door to get out of the car.
I found only the option to leave it for 20 minutes after the shut off of the engine, but that is not what I need. As I already stated, basically in every other car it remains on until you open the door to get out of the car. I drove a lot of cars but have never seen this. Maybe there is a way to leave it on for at least 1 minute after shut down on the engine? 20 minutes is waaaaay to long. The idea is that when i shut down the engine, i like to continue to listen to music until I get all things done before actually leaving the car (get my mobile, wallet, umbrella, bags, ect). It takes no more that 30secs, but its really annoying to do everything in the complete silence
I know that you can turn the key back to acc, but in this case i want to know if there is another solution

I have the U connect 7 inch screen multimedia system.

    Thanks,

Do you have a US spec car? In the US manual, I see the following under User Programmable features:

    • Radio Off With Door — If Equipped
When this feature is selected, the radio will turn off when a door is opened. To make your selection, select from “On” or “Off” on the touchscreen.

Did you have that option in your menu?

I use the 20 minutes setting and just hit the button before I get out. I also like to play the radio when I clean the car, so I use this setting. I have to turn it back on every 20 minutes, which may be inconvenient at times, but it's a good way to mark time, plus it keeps you from killing your battery if you forget.

One thing I have to remind myself is that this is among the cheapest cars a person can buy, so even though it has many features that a lot of cars in its class don't have, it is lacking some that more expensive cars have. Personally, it is the cheapest car I've ever bought and I think that is the case for many, if not most on the forum, and we're are just not used to what cars in this segment are like. That's what I chalk the idiosyncrasies up to compared to say our Audi, or our Alfa.

      Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Actually my car is EU spec car, because im from Europe also If my car is not equipped with this feature - everything is clear, it not a glitch, it was designed like that. Cheapest or no, I think this feature costs no actual money for the manufacturer, its only the simple switch, like the one witch turns the interior lighting on when the door is opened. Also there is an option to leave it for 20 minutes, this means that the programmer could just added the option to leave it for 2,5,10,15, ect minutes and that's it. Oh well, i guest ill have to live with it

      Thanks!

My comment is a general one in that some folks say the car doesn't have this or do that, but the some of those features are not included or not realistic on a car at this price point. It's a mystery know why they wouldn't include a software feature, but I would think when something isn't included, there is a reason, be that a time deadline constraint (which can be easily attributed to budget) or I could even see someone forgetting to do something.

Guys, I'm a bit bewildered reading this. I've owned a fair number of cars in my lifetime, probably around fifty of them. I can't remember a single one, even those costing more than $50k USD, that didn't require me to simply push the radio power button after pulling out the key. Turning the radio on this way results in something like an hour of on-time, depending on the car.
