The 500X AWD system disengages so there isn't the same parasitic drivetrain losses you get with other systems. It is a neat system and engages nearly instantly (within 300 milliseconds or less). I've gotten out of 2 feet of snow with stock tires in my long, smooth driveway that's on an incline.

I'm shocked. According to the news releases, it's only us and the EU.

    I could be........enticed!

We really enjoyed our 500X. We would have gotten another one but they made us a deal we couldn't refuse on a Stelvio. The Stelvio is a nice car and I'm a big time Alfa guy, but there are a lot of things we miss from the 500X.

is there any chance we could talk the Fiat USA Team into adding more power and an abarth like exhaust into the 500X sport usa model?

Well they couldn't do anything about bumping the power up with the MultiAir Turbo due to our emission standards, so you may want to hit up your state representatives first.

When I saw that layout for the first time, I thought of the older Patriot drive system. Though the EPA for the bigger engine (2.4L) said around 24 MPG, it mostly knocked down 30 w/ 5 adults on board. (I only got to play with it for a couple months.) People hated that rig, but I thought it perfect for the dude who drives it like almost all 4WD/AWD cars are driven.

What would make the 500X sport, more of a enthusiast car. Drop a 306 hp engine in it. Similar to whats in the 2020 Mini Clubman, John Cooper Works. 0-60 in 4.2 seconds. Under cut the price of the Minis $40k price sticker. Price the 500X sport, under $30K. That would be nice. You’d have new Fiat customers, knocking at the door. Of course, I just dreaming.

I really like it without the plastic wheel arches. Looks so cool. I would be a buyer! One minor thing please add a 12v power socket to the trunk. Our 2016 500x doesn’t have it but the Renegades do.

We got to keep on track, let’s remember fiat USA is going to make changes. Things like maybe automatic transmission, maybe engine changes. So let’s see what they do also I would like to see what they do for 2020 fiat 500X? Who knows maybe we will get the 500X abarth.

So I don’t see a single website talking about the 500X sport coming to the USA . Are we going to wait until the announcement near the LA Auto show?
