    Max Level 2 Amps

I can't find any data on the maximum charging amps for Fiat 500e. Affordable options come in 20, 30, 40 and 50 amps. Obviously 50 amps will charge faster than 20. Is there any reason not to install a 50 amp circuit. I have a 30 amp circuit and 26 amp charger for my BMW i3. I need to install a second circuit and socket for my 500e and want to maximize charging time. Especially weekend afternoons when I can charge until 2:00pm at .09 pkh.

I believe the max charge rate is 30A for 500e according to the 2015 manual page 20/21: https://cdn.dealereprocess.net/cdn/s.../2015-500e.pdf
    Although clippercreek's website says 32A: https://www.clippercreek.com/wp-cont...al_Low-Res.pdf

Either way you will need a dedicated 40A circuit which I literally just had installed yesterday while my panel was being replaced. 40A is required due to the 80% amperage rule by code 40 * 0.8 = 32A max current on the circuit.

I need to install my charger but this is my setup:
    Siemens charger: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MFVI92S/ref=emc_b_5_t
    Leviton Outlet: https://www.amazon.com/Leviton-5374-...FSWVZFD8X7NE34
Double Gang box (Single is to small): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
    Aluminum box cover: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You will also need a MINIMUM of 8/2 NM-B or 8/3 NM-B copper wire to run from the panel to the outlet. I ran 6/3 NM-B copper wiring just because the electrical guy had some extra.

    Hopefully that helps!

The maximum charge rate of a 500e is 6.6kW. On 240V, that can be achieved with 27.5A (the formula is Watts = Volts * Amperes). Therefore a 30 amp charger (which should be on a 40A circuit for safety) can charge the 500e at its maximum rate. A 50 amp charger wouldn't charge a 500e any faster because the 500e will not draw more than 6.6kW.

Your i3 can charge at up to 7.4kW rate. With your 26 amp charger, you are charging a bit slower than the i3 is capable of. One reason to choose a higher amp charger than you need is for future proofing against cars you may own in the future. A 40 amp charger is a sensible choice if you don't mind the higher price.
