Every time I drive my car and take a moment to appreciate it - I fall in love with it all over again. It's just a charming little bugger. I also started a relationship with the Italian car specialist down the road from me in Baltimore city for bigger repair jobs. I think the plan going forward for me will be to drive my 500 till it turns into a piles of rust and then find a low mileage used one and repeat till I run out.

Only the abarth? I am sad now. I was and even currently very happy with my 1957 edition, but that whole Retro edition made my "special edition" something relatively common

I lost exhaust valve #1 this year and this was one year to the day that I have lost exhaust valve #3 so my mechanic replaced all. I almost traded the car in for some generic Ford or Honda. between the repair and the car rental I was $4,100 in the hole but I just didn't have the heart to trade in my 2013 Abarth (with 95K miles). According to my mechanic, the parts were harder to get and took longer and cost more.... I'm still glad I fixed it and this news just tears me apart. We all knew it was likely after those June sales numbers were posted. I agree with TEdolph that a lot of new cars look like the tennis shoes you get on the market these days (just ugly). Anyway, I am in mourning. The 2013 Abarth was me second Fiat (I had the 2012 500 Sport, which on some levels I actually liked better for the interior). What is going to happen now? Do we just have "collectible cars" that are going to be very expensive to fix? I paid my last payment on the Abarth last month so at least I own it outright finally.
I'm driving a Verde Chiaro Fiat Sport, with manual transmission, Safety/Convenience & Safety/Sound packages, power sunroof, Forward Care package. Always run on Premium gas. Car purchased 12/30/11, Orange Coast Fiat, Costa Mesa, CA.

I fell in love with the 500; there is no replacement for me sadly. So happy to see my original Fiat is in my signature area, but I traded it in when the engine light kept going off for a brand new 2013 Abarth. I sometimes regret and miss the original green fiat. it was definitely a cool car.

They are discontinuing production of the 500 in Mexico (this was known for some time). They are discontinuing sales of the 500 in the US for the 2020 model year. These two things we know.

What we don't know is whether or not they plan to bring the new 2021 500e to the US. Hang tight.

When FIAT made the turbo standard on all 2018 500ís, it made the choice between an Abarth and a Retro 1957 model tougher. The Abarth showed up first as a local bargain, so thatís what I went with. But the 1957 retro, in blue with a manual, sure, Iíd have one of those....
