Hey all. I’m working out a deal to buy a 500 from Nyle Maxwell to have it delivered to me in DFW next week. After reading this thread, will I be able to take it to Alfa Romero in Fort Worth, or should I do the Dodge Chrysler Jeep dealers for service as suggested?
thanks! I’m really nervous about all the problems I see on here that people have, but the car seems so cute and fun that it will be worth the risk. Bought the warranty of course and the dealer offers lifetime power train. Hopefully they stick around to honor it!

You don't mention the car's year or which warranty (factory?). If it's an aftermarket warranty, then I'd contact that company to see where it can be serviced.

Not all Chrysler dealers can do Fiat warranty work and not all Fiat dealers are Chrysler. Alfa Romeo of Ft Worth lists themselves as a Fiat dealer, though they have zero new Fiats. I'd check with each location to see if they are a warranty service center, then research each company's reliability. Like any shop, some do better work than others. For non-warranty work, I'd go with any shop that I feel comfortable with. In my case, there's a shop 2 blocks away that can do normal work, but for diagnostics I'd prefer my dealer. Fiat, like most brands, has some interesting features. A shop that works on Jeep or Alfa can have a leg up on generic shops.

But that's just me... and congratulations on the new car. I hope you find it as fun as most of us do.

Thank you. It’s a 2017 Pop with 21k miles. The salesman just said that the warranty can be honored at any regulated mechanic...
I forgot the company name but I was going to contact AR in Ft Worth tomorrow and ask them about it. I am not sure where 500 owners around here are going. I see them around...

You need to take your car, either to a Fiat studio. Or to a FCA dealership, that has a Fiat franchise. Both of those with be able, to preform factory warranty work on your car. If your car is out of warranty, any reputable automotive shop can maintain and service your car. Same goes for extended warranty policies. My extended warranty just ran out. Going into 9 years of ownership. Havent been to a Fiat dealership, in 5 years, for any maintance. Go to independent shops. My valve cover gasket now needs to be replaced. I wish I had my extended warranty now.

If you’re concerned about the warranty, don’t rely on what a salesperson says - get a copy and read it yourself. There are only two, FIAT authorized service/warranty centers near me, ea. 35 miles away in different directions. Neither sell NEW FIATS, just the odd used one. While the 500 is an amazing, fun car for the money, ease-of-service will not be your friend. At the moment, the fun, unique presence of the car make the headaches worth it. In three years, who knows. If you do your own work, that will make your life easier.

it depends on what brand is the warranty. IF you go mopar, they are good but they have the strange rules. I got one from my dad, what they do is I must drive a FCA brand car for my rental. One time when I had the fiat and also the Chrysler drove some neat cars. I got a Fiat 500X Trekking plus (2016) Jeep grand chrokee, Chrysler 300S, 300C, Jeep Cherokee, Ram 1500 5.7. so it just depends on what you get. I would go with the mopar brand one if it doesnt break you bank. Also what I know form what I been reading is FCA wants more dealers to at least service them. One deal I read about (I know a deanship who got offered this) was FCA would pay them to redo their service Department on their expense all they had to do is 2 thing sell fiat new cars and CPO fiat cars, 2. service fiat cars. But they turned it down. Because they didn't think people want to buy fiat cars. So according to the friend I know they lost like $100,000-$1,000,000 dollars worth of upgrades on their dealership. crazy I know but people are so bias on this brand.
