It sounds like it could be a transmission issue or a problem from the car sitting for a while. It's a good idea to have a mechanic check it out.

    Alfa Romeo Giulietta

Was able to rent this Alfa Romeo Giulietta this past month in Italy. It had a 6 speed manual transmission, 5 passenger capacity, room for 3 suitcases in the trunk, and was a solid performance car. This is what the Dart should have been. They ruined it by stretching it and adding hundreds of pounds of weight to the car.

Nice! Every time my wife and I visit Italy, I always get stuck with a regular Fiat 500 or last time a stupid Lancia Ypsilon. (Ypsilon translated is P.O.S) There were times I was sure some Mercedes or Audi was going to run me over while driving the Autostrada. That little car would barely keep up, and not on hills going through mountains.

I can relate... Fiat's lowest power, combined with PT Cruiser styling. It is aptly named.

Nice rental - I'm going to Italy next week and have a Fiat 500l manual booked.
What company did you rent from, and how much per day? You can PM me if you want it private.
          Thanks!

The rental company was called Sixt. It was (without added insurance) 46 euros a day. They will push for you to purchase added insurance but that's up to you. That was 22 euros a day. Make sure you use a credit card that does not charge you a foreign transaction fee and when you pay tell them you want to pay in euros. The credit card company should give you a better exchange rate. Hope this helps and enjoy your trip.

Too bad Chrysler didn't work it out in 2010... when they were going to label it as the Milano and build them in the US. Combined mileage (depending on engine) of 35 or 45 MPG would have made it an excellent replacement. I'd love to cruise down the freeway @ 55 MPG.

This Lancia is the closes resemblance to a PT cruiser. Chrysler had a hit with that car.

Doesn’t that Lancia, share platforms, with the 500?
