Yeah, but... all that "chrome" on the non-sport... (☉_☉)

(Totally subjective, just something to think about)

Also worth noting that I drove the 6MT Civic Sport. I have nothing nice to say about CVTs made by any manufacturer... but I'm sure Honda's are... efficient... ...yeah... that's something that non-enthusiasts like... right?

Yeah, I'd like to recommend the mt as well, but... the mom/sister thing tells me there's going to be a strong preference for an automatic.

You've probably already chosen, but... if you go for the Honda, I'd recommend one w/o the direct FI. Some (not just Honda) are having problems w/ dumping gas in the oil. Civic, Corolla, Focus, and Mazda 3 are all reliable and affordable enough to get a later model car.

Any Honda, or Subaru vehicle. With a automatic, or fuel efficient CVT transmission. Both brands have strong safety features. Best resale on the market. We own two Honda, with direct injection. Havent had a issues with them.

Thanks...UNfortunately, that "best resale" rating means higher prices for any used units on the lots. Virtually no chance at a warranty balance(miles or time) by the time they drop to $15k.

I haven't spoken with her in a few days...I'll update as I find new info.

You might want to look into a used KiA, or Hyundai cars. There right at the top, with JD Powers top reliable ratings. Lots of nice looking cars, crossover’s, to choose from. The Koreans vehicles are now more reliable, then some of the Japanese brands.

Well, she went with a Mazda 3 sedan...her original "favorite". Has a bit of warranty left and is driving a fairly sporty vehicle!
    Thanks for the responses!!!
