I love the new interior of the 2021 Fiat 500e. Finally Fiat is using upscale plastics, and soft touch materials. No one can complain about the cheap switch gear, and hard scratchy plastics, in the new model. That was incorporated in the aging 2007 interior. Now if they would just build a ICE version, along with the EV one. Like Mini does. Please Fiat import new 500 here.

Actually the standard Giulias are as up to snuff as any other car in its price point, and that especially includes Audi, BMW and Mercedes who have let quality slip and make needless complexity the rule. You have no idea how it burns me how I see recall after recall on these cars, and when an Alfa throws a code, holy sh*t, alert the media!
There's a double standard here. As far as the QV, if you expect a car with a Ferrari engine in it to run like a Civic, please take the bus. There's no free lunch.Phase 0, Neu-F Torque Bushing, Neu-F 28mm rear bar, El Gato Braces, Corsa Forza center brace, Front & Rear Koni Yellows, 4C coils, Craven Short Shifter, DeFi Boost Gauge, GFB-DV.

Pretty sad. Fiat tried with positioning the car as a lifestyle and fun brand, which is the only real way to do it and make money in the US small car segment. It showed they were on to something with the 500 being the number one selling model over all the rest of the brand's other offerings. If they only kept the pressure up with new features, a fresh design like the new car in a timely manner plus some aggressive marketing this could be a different story. They would never sell in Corolla numbers, but they could have cornered what was left of the small car market. Attention paid to the distribution side is also lacking, so it is no wonder they are where they are now. What a waste.
Now the counter point to this is the low profit small car market and potential sales doesn't justify the outrageous investment it takes to bring a new car to market. At this point, car companies are in survival mode because of the tidal wave of regulations being crammed down everyone's throat. Who would have ever thought that car companies would be doing away with sedans because they can't afford to waste resources building them.Enjoy the Forum? I’m so sick of being surrounded by SUV’s everywhere I go, almost ALWAYS populated by ONE person. That’s what I truly loved about a recent trip to Italy - cars I could still see around. Lol2017 500 Abarth, manual trans, NAV, Beats, Sunroof, 17" wheels, everything. But no mods. None, nada.👍 4- Top

My understanding is that the current ND Mazda Miata would not exist except for the FIAT 124 Spider and for just the reason you mentioned-
"the outrageous investment it takes to bring a new car to market". Sharing platforms, powertrains, and costs is just about the only way low volume vehicles can make it to market and expect to see more of it, not less. I think for the foreseeable future electric vehicles will remain a niche market despite the push from politicians- there just are too many drawbacks, cost, range, refueling time and infrastructure among them. Manufacturers have invested billions in developing all electric vehicles- they build them but for the most part, customers do not come. Expect to see further consolidations among manufacturers and more bankruptcies too. The new 500 is a good example. Good range, beautiful design but at what cost?2018 FIAT 500 Abarth- manual, 17" wheels, sunroof, perla white tricoat, red leather, bone stock (for now) daily driver

It's beginning to look like it was good that Fiat didn't link up with Renault. Nissan seems to be having serious problems in the US market as well.
The new 500 received a lot of investment. With the PSA merger, they might get even better.- Top

I liked the fact that FCA was the dominant partner in the FCA/Renault merger. Not so sure how it will play out with PSA. One thing I don't miss is it seems Nissan is a run by some questionable characters after seeing what they and the Japanese legal system did to Carlos Ghosn.Enjoy the Forum? On the flipside the 2.0 is getting positive attention as a reliable luxury car. It's still gorgeous, still handles well, and costs half as much. Sure you don't get a Ferrari derived V6TT but you could use it as a DD. Seems like a nice trade off.
