? for Abarths with over 50k miles and/or older than 4 years old...

My 4 year factory warranty is about to run out in a few months.

Just found out the lifetime factory warranty option ended in 2018. Now they only have 5 to 8 year options (so really an additional 1 to 4 years). Around $2,700...

    Have an auto, not manual.

What have you all spent on repairs?

    Thanks!

I have a 2013 Abarth with about 41K miles. No repairs (knock on wood) after warranty expired. Plenty covered under warranty. Preventive / scheduled maintenance is the key, IMHO.

Hate they canceled that. I had a lifetime on my '13 Abarth and almost kept it because of that. Now for my new '18, luckily i have a few years to wait. If you get one make sure to shop around the internet. Bunch of dealers that sell them online cheaper than if you walk into a dealer.

btw...is the 5-8 added to when you buy the warranty, or 5-8 from original date of car?

It's now unlimited miles with 6 or 7yrs, that still isn't a bad deal. Pay it off and drive it for a few more years worry free.

I do the scheduled maint - oil changes. Had a brake job. Had a few plastic bits - steering wheel cover sort of come off - clip inside snapped...

Fine print reads from IN-SERVICE date. So basically the 5-8 year warranty is really a 1-4 year warranty.

Got quotes from Zeigler - got that from another online poster before. At about $2,400 for the 8y (4 years basically) - $600 a year's worth. Here's an interesting bit of fine print - if it expires by date and NOT BY MILEAGE, and ZERO claims, you get your money back!

I don't put a lot of miles only because I work 95% in my hometown, one little city. Have thought of paying it off, but I didn't because it's at just a little over 1% financing! But I will drive it till it falls apart. Hopefully for another 15 years +

Bought mine a couple of months ago : a 6-year old 2013 with 62k miles. Knocking on wood that nothing major happens.

Wow THANKS. That was very helpful, especially the point you raised about the policy you bought - go ANYWHERE AND transferable. Will give them a call soon. Have you filed a claim yet?
