    K&N and GFB+ Diverter Valve

    Hey guys and gals,

Finally got around to having my Go Fast Bits+ Diverter valve with the upgraded spring, and a drop in K&N filter installed on my '14 L. Can definitely tell the car is holding boost now all the way through the RPM range, and especially if you let off the accelerator mid pull it doesn't get choppy. Slight noise difference with K&N, but not much. Overall it is running much smoother. MPG updates to come in a few weeks. Was averaging about 26MPG all stock.

    Cheers!
    Mike

Update... the day I picked up my car from the performance shop I also got hit by a pizza delivery car, so the L was in the body shop the next day for a 2 week stint. Go it back 2 days ago so just now really getting to drive with the new parts. I can really feel the new diverter valve down shifting on the freeway. Also, was in the 40's this morning and you can definitely hear the turbo more with the new filter on a cold day; couldn't tell before.

Update: After over 1k miles of driving my average MPG (as shown in the gauge cluster) is up to 28.7. Close to a 3 MPG improvement with no change in driving style.

Regarding the sound, would you characterize it as intrusive (boy-racer) or merely characterful? It sounds like something I would buy if I decide on the L but I don"t want to hear the turbo exhaling every five seconds.

Definitely not intrusive, I can really only tell when its in the 50's or below, and even then you don't get the boy racer blow off "whoosh", you can just hear the turbo more pronounced through the filter when spooling.
