Do you actually sell this now or are you thread sniping? Just curious.

Almost bought an OFT for the 500T Proyecto Estupido but decided not to since the specific questions I asked where responded to by someone apparently a lacky responding from a script who did not even answer the questions I asked but instead gave me generic information.

In what way does the OFT fail on being "open"? Does it not allow modification of necessary parameters? Is it like a Diablosport which basically just allows timing/boost modification on some cars but not real tuning? Or is it more that it's too complicated and Shiv doesn't provide enough help?

If I remmber, this guys issue with open flash was like 2.5 years ago. I camt comment on the openflash then. He seems to be the only one, and he never specifically says what his issue was. You can edit maps are far as they are defined. A lot of the fundamental configuration to running this engine isnt editable. It's not a standalone. You cant run a custom crank trigger pattern, or something like that. I did have trouble with tuner pro. The free version is supposed to be 100% enabled. I had trouble. I have had no issues saving or committing changes with the registered version.

Thread Sniping - now that is an awesome and hilarious term! I think I can demonstrate how to properly thread snipe:

To the OP, have you considered Euro+Drive? There are so many of us that use that for vehicles and have tremendous results, far better then any piggyback could dream of offering. Here is a link for more information:

The mm ecu is strange if your not familiar with it. I have tuned my own car for nearly every modified car I've owned. I've ran a few generations of haltech, owned a wolf 3d v.3 about 100 years ago, efisystemsinc, have a megasquirt ult. on my 930. The mm ecu was not more "complicated" but new to me. It's probably not jump in and go for someone not familiar with that ecu. But your also not configuring a car and programming ecu for a first start and idle. You have fantastic maps of shivs to start with and build confidence in small changes if u need to.

And btw, Bob zecca is a smart smart man. I know he pushes chipbox, but he is one of those racers you listen to.

I'm fully aware the PCM used in the Fiat is complicated. My question wasn't how complicated it was, but whether or not the OFT actually allows access to the needed parameters to properly tune the PCM - given that you have the correct knowledge. Have yet to get an answer to that. What can you and can you not access using the OFT?

As far as the chipbox, it's fine if you're using a piggyback. But piggybacks can only do so much on this car, and there is definitely a lot more potential to be unlocked using a flash tune as opposed to a piggy. You do have to know what you are doing though.

I believe I did answer it. You can edite just about anything. It was easier to exclude what u cant edit. Fundamental operation stuff that you would do setting up a standalone or something. Pickup Trigger pattern, number of cylinders, firing order etc etc, How much clearer can I be? You want me to go into tunerpro and list every single table and menu? Also, and maybe most importantly, the tablet logs everything you need. I'm not so sure the various obd cellphone tools and such do.

Did you get an XDF with openflash to map in tunerpro? If so, that would push me over the edge to get it.

Yes sir, i have. Bin and .xdf from open flash. I will say, I had problems with tunerpro saveing and committing changes. No problems in tunerproRt. I know the free version is supposed to be fully functional, but I think it has bugs that RT. Doesnt have. At 40 bucks, why not support the developer of such an awesome.program anyways.

This is from a different editing program but same tables. Hope this helps. Between ec and openflash, its really a no brainer. Even if you have no intention of custom tuning or fine tuning, your just getting more. Logging, resale value, ability to use with any car(ec will flash any car if you have files to flash) basically and free maps for quite a few models thru openflash plus the entire open source world.

I'm working on buying full damos right now. Registering my business with a company that provides canned tunes to shops as we speak. Oma no programmer, but soon I should have 100% access to most of ecu. I'm still learning with this flashing stuff. I've mapped lots of cars and owned quite a few haltech and wolf 3d. But this factory ecu thing ads another layer. Modern cars are just too complex to go easy route and wire in a standalone.
