I'm betting that its going to be a wash between the 2.4L and the 1.3 Firefly when it comes to 0-60 (8.5 motorweek). It may be as quick as the 1.4L FWD (7.8). It could end up costing the owner more to fill-up. Some of the European reviews are not happy with the actual gas mileage.

Interesting video by EE why replacing a large displacement N/A engine with a small displacement turbo engine doesn't always work out:

For me, it's not so much raw acceleration numbers, but a matter of powertrain refinement. The 2.4L Tigershark + 9sp auto has the get-up-n-go if I really whomp it, but it just feels rough and clunky. Even at mid-throttle moderate acceleration, it isn't hard to feel the abruptness of the first few gear shifts. When I drive our 500X, I tend to make a very conscious effort to nurse the accel pedal very carefully, because I just don't want to feel that un-refinement, which is so out-of-character with the rest of the charming and wonderful car.

With other brands' cute utes, the shifts are practically imperceptible... just a nice smooth acceleration from stand still to hwy speed, in just about any throttle setting except ball-to-the-wall.

I hope the torque rich 1.3L turbo would do better in this regard.
