    I watched Richard Hammond review the 124 on Grand Tour: loved it, more than the Miata, one of his personal favs. Then I watched Matt LeBlanc review it on Top Gear: hated it. But his review was stupid, so Hammond FTW. lol.

    I did read somewhere that you can get the carbon fiber hardtop for the 124 in the US now. Close to $4000 IIRC but it looks better than the MX-5 RF which is priced similarly and you still get a ragtop. Win / Win.
    But the carbon fiber top seems completely pointless to me, since I understand it doesn't free up space or weight of the convertible top... soooooooooo.

    And the original argument that the Fiat has more power to compensate for more weight is moot now that the Miata is both lighter and more powerful than the Fiat. For the Fiat to be viable it either now needs to:

    1) Undercut the Miata on price or offer more standard options for the price
    or
    2) Upgrade the Fiat to the already available 1.3T engine, which bumps factory power to 180 horsepower and 200 lb.-*ft. of torque
