It's going. I miss working, because I didn't really have to do that much when I was there and half my time was spent traveling. Now that I'm home, I'm non stop busy. Mainly, I'm just trying to unpack and make the new place more comfortable. Hopefully this weekend I can go to my first OKC car meet. We'll see how things go.

    RE: Happy Mazda

None of the examples of "Happy Mazdas" are current production cars. They are all dead and gone. Mazda is no longer a happy company. Mazda is a company with a singular happy car (which has an angry face).

We now have the Kodo Design Language. Kodo has been immensely successful for Mazda. No, I don't know sales numbers, but they punch above their league on perceived quality and styling. Heck, people have been comparing styling cues between Mazda and Alfa Romeo, that's got to feel really good for Mazda's design team.

But, to me, Kodo represents the death of the RX cars, it represents the booming crossover craze (Mazda makes some of the best), Kodo represents the end of the Mazdaspeed/MPS cars and "zoom-zoom" marketing. The face of Kodo isn't happy, it is stern and a little bit bored, with pinched eyes full of skepticism. Which is a perfect reflection of my own feelings.

I appreciate Mazda's dedication to perfecting the internal combustion engine, and to human interface ergonomics. I will always respect them as a manufacturer. But I don't love modern Mazda, and they certainly don't make me happy.

Funny how quickly "free" time gets eaten up even with a non-job leaving a gaping void.

I'm impressed that you are already diving into local car culture. Meanwhile our first Cars and Coffee was cancelled due to snow and cold. =/

    Morning all

Pizzamann: go to the car show, you need a happy break

Ando: They are happy, it all depends on how you look at them

Absolutely. After I typed that I thought to myself... "gee it's going to be really awkward when I announce that I'm buying a 6MT AWD Skyactiv-X Grand Touring to replace the 500..."

But it still wouldn't be the love affair that FIAT ownership has been. I would wear a smug smirk for knowing I own a great car, not uncontrollable giggles from beating a rental camaro off the line and afterfiring in his face.

The Abarth has ruined me. "Life is too short to drive boring cars."

    Good day all.

There was supposed to be a Cars & Coffee a couple of weeks ago but it was 17 degrees out with -5 wind chill. They thought it would be best if they canceled it.

Woof... that's cold even by my standards!

Annual average high on 4-1 is 50F Of course that will be closer to 30 @8:00am, but they could have just pushed the show back a few hours to let it warm up a bit. (ᗒᗣᗕ)՞

The weather is weird out here. The only constant here is the wind. It's either breezy or "did I just see a witch fly past the window" windy.
