Already did a proxy alignment last week. Fixed the blinking odometer but not the radio. That’s how I ended up on this thread because a couple people mentioned that if the proxy alignment didn’t fix the issue it could be a blown fuse on the back of the radio unit. Yes, you can do a proxy alignment on your own without taking it to the dealer. Just need a good Elm327 cable and to download some type of scan software. Here is a good video explaining how to do it.

Did you end up fixing this? I have the same issue going. I have a 2016 Fiat 500, with Uconnect 5 radio, that looks exactly like the one you posted. Radio won't turn off after battery was low, and battery eventually replaced.

    Things I've tried so far:
    1. Checked all the fuses. All fuses are good.
    2. Did the Proxi alignment using MultiECUScan : Flashing odometer stopped
    3. Hold power and tuner buttons down for a "reboot" : No effect
    4. Removed the radio and it seems to be powered by mini USB. I don't have a way to check the power from a mini USB cable.

Currently, I'm stuck on step 4, which seems to be the last DIY resort based on all forum discussions I've read.

still working on jt. I think, hope anyway, like others in the thread it will end up being a fuse in the actual radio. Just have to find jt on our model. I’m kind of thinking the faceplate may come off. Going to message a Fiat guy later after work and ask him directly. I’ll let you know what I find out. Really, really hoping I don’t have to order a whole new unit. I’ve tried all the same things you have.

I had the same issue with the blinking odometer and the radio not working in a 2017 500. After proxy alignment the radio is still not working. Checked fuses and wiring their is power at the radio and power at the amp. Before running the proxy alignment Convergence Telematic Node (CTM) said removed after the proxy alignment it was no longer showing. Also it says Invalid ISO Code under ECU ISO Code. Npisan were you able to get your radio working?

Almost the same issue with the radio here too. 2016 550e, 27k miles, wife was driving home from work and the music started getting very staticky and the screen started flickering, then wend off "no sound, nothing". A few minutes later the screen started flickering and went back out and once she got home it was completely out. I checked everything, the head unit is getting power, pulled it out "amazingly simple" and checked all connections, still nothing. The one thing i did notice is once I got the head unit out the main body piece, close to the monitor, was very very hot, "not normal hot" and this was about 20 minutes after it had been sitting since she got home.

I did unhook the 12v battery before pulling, and hooked back up after putting back and still nothing, did notice the ODO flashing too. I found a replacement unit at a salvage yard and am waiting on it to get here to see if that fixes the issue. If not it will be off to the dealer.
In all the vehicles I've owned I've never had a factory head unit die like that.

Got the replacement in, it's powering up but get a "Enter Pin #", is this something that has to be done at the dealer?

I searched for the (fairly) recent entry on PIN # but couldn't find it. IIRC from that post, it's something from the original owner. You could contact your dealer and maybe you'll have luck or maybe FiatCares can help. That article was the only mention of a PIN. Perhaps others haven't had this problem when upgrading because they chose aftermarket head units??? I seem to recall that post said dealers can't access the PIN. Perhaps you need the car's VIN that it came from?

The first car I heard about using this system was the original Miata. They used a PIN in their stereo to stop stereo theft, though the code was in the owner's manual. My 500 manual don't list a PIN# so I'm rather confused by that error.
