Fiat debuts the 2019 Fiat 500X this week at the 2018 LA Auto Show. The new 500X has been redesigned, and offers numerous detail changes to make the car even more enjoyable to drive and live with. The 2019 500X is available in three trim levels:Pop, Trekking and Trekking Plus. Gone for 2019 is the option of getting a 500X with front-wheel-drive. Now, all 500X models will be all-wheel-drive.

Dumb decision made by Fiat to make it AWD only. Vast majority of those sold are fwd, at least in the south where we don't need AWD and the added weight and fuel economy loss. Starting price of almost $26k??!! Fiat doesn't carry the cache to demand those prices. I most definitely will not consider one again for sure now.

So far I like what I see, hopefully the 0-60 time improves. Or I would like to see improvements in the passing ability for the highway. I think AWD was a must, also I think you guys are over reacting about the price. Think about it what fiat does if they are charging $25k don’t you think they are giving you more equipment. So we should be patient before judgements. Maybe we will find if you compare the equipment versus the old version it will be less or most people buy said options, well it makes sense to make it standard. Let wait to see what fiat says in the press conference or later in the official website that fiat puts out.

Price wise, the car is still less money than 2015. The Trekking Plus is a nice car. To be honest, I have a $50K Stelvio and the stereo and many of the features in the Fiat are better and more functional. The 500X is also not a flimsy car and is a tank compared to the competition and has many details like Koni FSB technology shocks and a better AWD system than many of the competition that is swooned over by the mass media.

As far as why cut the FWD version, generally when you see car versions cut, that means sales don't justify the considerable expense of certifying two versions. While a person in Florida can deal with AWD and not even notice it, a person in the snow belt cannot be without an AWD car in many places, so that precludes even looking at a 2wd winter car.

It is a good question, though, and I'll ask someone to see what they say.

If it's better than the 2.4 then that's a good thing. That's the one thing I don't miss about my X.

If it is better, hard to say.
Definitely low end torque will help.

However, I must say that the Tigershark gets lively after hitting 3500 rpm. That is the point where I really feel it pull hard.
