    Changing out the shift knob?

The plastic "chrome" is peeling off the oem shifter knob on my '13 500 Sport manual leaving some sharp edges. Gonna check out one of our vendors for an aftermarket one. Hope my question doesn't sound dumb but how is this thing held on? Tried to twist it off like an old Hurst shifter but nothing happened.

You have to remove the cap to reveal the 10mm bolt holding it on.

Make sure you pick up something with the recess for the OEM reverse lockout to fit into. Off the top of my head the Cravenspeed knob has it and Black has it as an option.

Got a new OEM one on order .... hasn't shown up yet. Went OEM mostly due to price and some concern about the lockout. Was happy with the stock knob until it started cutting my hand. Thanks to all for your help.

Ran up to the studio the Saturday before Christmas to pick up the new shift knob. While there I asked the service manager if they could check my oil. Next thing you know he grabs the part from me, installs it, checks the oil and got it washed ..... all at n/c. That's what you call service!

Whoa... merry Xmas! Where's this studio? I'd cross the border for that kind of service. =P

If it's in Wisco I'm guessing here in Madison because I don't think there are any dealers in the western half of the state. Dealership here is good. Just be careful traveling behind the cheddar curtain!

You don't have to go far ... FIAT Minneapolis. Bought my car there five years ago last month and I keep going back ....it's the best sales and service experience I've ever had and at 65 I've had more than than a few. They've always gone the extra mile for me ... my car has never been serviced anywhere else. Still deal with the same salesperson and service people that I did five years ago and in a business where employment lifespan is measured in weeks and months, I think that says something. Hope to make a new Abarth happen sometime this year ... they've got my business.
