    New wipers

I found these Magneti Morelli wipers on Amazon. They're either going to be the greatest things ever or the worst. Time will only tell.

Let us know how they work out. Just had the studio throw on a new set of OEM wipers (Valeo I think) front and rear last month while in for an oil change. Kinda spendy but I get a year and a half out of them which I consider good considering the winters we get.

Has anyone noticed how our US cars have strange passenger side wiper arms that arch upwards on the passenger side? I was looking at Euro wiper arms that stay flat towards to bottom of the windscreen. Having visible wipers bother the hell out of me.

Thank government regulations. That was one of the changes made to comply with DOT wiper standards for swept area.

Personally, I like that. It gives the car more personality.

I hate it haha. I always fine Euro wipers in most cases to be more aesthetically pleasing. I'm sure the gain from the new wiper arm isn't that significant either.

I guess it was enough to satisfy regulations. It would be interesting to see the difference. Doesn't look like there would be much.

Didn't they also have to redesign the taillights for the N/A 500 due to FDOT. I thought I read the European taillights were 2mm too small by US regulations.

There were many changes to the car. While the car looks like the European car, it is a different animal. All documented here: http://www.fiat500usa.com/search/label/Evolution

The europeans got an all new 500. We are soldiering on with the NA version created in 2012. At least until the tooling is amortized! :P

Hah! One of my first thoughts about the wipers on my car was; "Really? This 14" blade is going to sweep across the shield to dump water/slush directly in my line of sight? I'm going to take that entire arm off!"

I never did remove it but the stupid slant where the passenger blade turns around still bugs the crap out of me.... why do my passengers get a cleaner windshield than the driver!? It's especially annoying that when it deposits ice there in inclement weather it screws up the 24" blade and I have to go buy a new one.

Ooops, this thread is rather derailed. I'm anxious to hear about your MM wipers. I just picked up 2 sets of blades for the winter on a promotion for ~$3/blade. So far they are good and when they only last 1-2 months I won't be upset about it.
