    Euro Headlights

Anyone know if the Euro headlights and lower lights would work on our US models?

I asked this on another forum that has since been closed, since the Euro lights are LED and more effective. The answer seems to be "no." If I recall correctly, the lights will not adapt to our CAN bus system, and are not compatible.

I have a set of Diode Dynamics LEDs on order. It's taking 8 weeks to get them, but I hope these satisfy my need for better lighting. I was never happy with the stock lights, and I didn't want to go with an HID set up.

I know the taillights are LED but I don't think the headlights are LED. The turning lights do have an LED ring though. The OEM Hids over there are D1S. These use H7 bulbs https://img.autoteile-gocht.de/ebay/...15966809_1.jpg

Did you get the SL1 LEDs? If so how do you like them, are they worth the cost?

I understand being wary of an aftermarket HID setup but gotta say this 500Madness 6000K HID kit, is easily the best mod done on this car and there are quite a bunch. The stock lights were downright dangerous, especially in the country roads. I can’t believe how much of a difference these made! 2 years and zero issues so far, FYI

I think the EURO DRLs can be made to work, but the headlights don't have the highbeam in them like the US ones would need. Don't know if anyone has ever solved that.

I'd love to see someone with a US car install these and confirm whether they work for us.

theres a guy on the juke forums that fits all types of different bulbs and lenses in the standard housing. i think morimoto leds are his favored option. he bakes the headlight (or something) so the unit comes apart then installs any type of light output and ballasts you may require. im sure hes not the only one in the world lol

question to mods -- is it ok to link his posts about doing this? im not in any way affiliated with him nor do i even know him. i have a juke for now so am a regular on their main forum. regards

Sounds cool. Thanks for asking. It's ok to link to a non-fiat forum for the sake of the conversation or to be helpful.

I used to not care, but after years of allowing links to Fiat forums and them not allowing reciprocating links I got turned off. The final straw was one of them (one of the 800+ sites owned by Verticle Scope) copied a complete Blog post complete with images I had flown across the country to take, and some images took me a year to get from Fiat. Being a nice guy to their community, I even told them they could use one of my images and some quotes but they blew it off and wouldn't even put a link to the story. After that, I frown upon linking to sites like that and I've adopted their policy of no links to competing sites. Kinda sucks, but I'm one guy competing with a mega-corporation that acts like that.

I got the SL1s but unfortunately, one was defective and I had to wait ANOTHER 8 weeks to get the replacement. I just installed it, but have to re-aim it. They ARE an improvement, but I find the projector beam doesn't lend itself to the nice sharp cut-off I used to get with old style round headlights.
