    Juicebox Pro 40 Charge Levels

Finally upgraded to a L2 charger, got the Juicebox Pro 40a. The JB claims the car is finished charging, but the charge lights are still flashing on the dashboard and the car shows a slightly lower mileage estimate then it did on the 120v charger. Juicenet app shows 0 charge current at that point...

Probably just comes down to the sense circuit / programming in the charger.

Just curious what others experience may be...

I own the juicebox for 1 year already. It'll charge almost full and will show you on your vehicle its 100%, but I find that opening the door 10 minutes before leaving will reach full charge. There was some publication that provided some info that you do not want to fully charge the car if its going to sit there for a few hours for safety reason. So, i believe Juicebox may have built this safety detection into the charge box. I do love the features that comes with the Juicebox though which is the reason why I installed this over other brand Level 2 charger.

I have been using a Juicebox 40 (the previous model without the any lights) for a little over a year now. No issues.

I would say that if the char shows >98% charged once it is done then things are fine. The mileage estimate is not a good indicator of how full the battery is, since it varies based on driving style/conditions.

    But I am curious:

When you say the "lights are still flashing" do you mean a bunch of solid lights, plus one flashing, to indicate charging progress? -- Or do you get what folks call the "goal posts", where both of the outermost lights on the charging indicator flash and the inner ones are off?

If you get the second one, it is possible that the Juice box switched off charging before the battery was full, because of a schedule that you set on the Juicebox, or because you limited the amount of charge/miles for this charge. (You can set this up through the Juicebox mobile app or their website).

If the first one happens (progress indicator), I wonder how long this lasts? -- Supposedly the 500e's battery pack has active cell balancing. If this only lasts for a relatively short while and then the car shuts off, I wonder if cell balancing is going on? (https://www.analog.com/en/technical-...balancing.html)

I have never seen my car do this, but then I'm hardly ever in my garage at 3am, to check what the lights on the dash do when charging ends...
