    Abarth exhaust resonator

There has been some discussion on this forum from time to time regarding "toning down" a little the Abarth exhaust noise. I know some folks are quite happy with it stock but some others would like a little gentler tone. I researched comments here and elsewhere and decided to install the Vibrant Performance #1791 resonator. It is to be installed next Tuesday at a nearby quality auto shop. I look forward to hear it for myself and will pass on my comments on this forum. I expect it will just eliminate the sharpest exhaust tone and leave the lower tones alone. This model resonator is 2 1/4" id so should slip on the midpipe and accept welding easily. I got it thru CARiD for $76 including shipping. We'll see what the welding costs. Let you know!

OK, I just got my Abarth back after having the Vibrant #1791 resonator installed. It was welded in about in the middle of the mid-pipe, more or less under the drivers seat. I have to say it is exactly what I wanted regarding the sound. The harsh, crackly tones are more or less gone - only the deeper lower tones come thru. It is a straight thru resonator so it will not affect the exhaust gas flow. Quite happy with it. The resonator delivered was about $76 from CarId. The welding was about $90. What a country!

They make a nice change. I use the larger chambered ultra-quiet on and off.

I ended up using a Magnaflow 10415 2.25 inch in/out Stainless Steel MAGNAPACK Muffler & it quieted down a bit. I'm happy with the results.
