    Cool 2018 Blue Denim Trekking...

Just traded in our '15 Pop on this brand spankin' new 2018 500L Trekking in Blue Denim with white roof. This is for my "other half" as was the Pop before it. We were originally going in for a new "turbo" Pop 5-speed, but of course only two 500C's on the lot with nothing else in miles. Test drove a 124, this 500L, a 500x, and then this 500L again. After it was all said and done, we settled on the 500L... Obviously. Two of my three brother were with us, and they agreed with us as well that this was the best choice, and we all actually preferred this to all the others. We love the non-metallic blue as well as the leather interior. I have a feeling this poor 500L isn't going to stay stock for long. LOL

Thank you! We love this color also. They had this one, a white one and a red one. I walked straight to this one as did everyone else. It's a great color combo, and down here in Florida, I'm sure that white roof will help a lot in the heat of summer and the ability for the a/c to cool down the interior. This car definitely cooled down a lot faster than the all black 500X we also test drove. In fact, the 500X never really got to a comfortable level in the short amount of time we drove it, which was the same amount of time we drove the 500L.

Well done! Very distinctive color combo! Might as well call the tint guys...our cars have a LOT of glass!!! I'm hoping to get my front two windows tinted this week. Hard to believe we waited this long; but business is booming for the tint folks with 50 days over 100 degrees this summer!

    What's the interior color combo?

All black leather, heated seats. Comfy and roomy.

And yes, definitely going to get the windows tinted. I have a guy I've been going to since the mid 90's, does a great job and warranties his work for the life of the car (at least for as long as you own it). He's done every car I've ever owned.

I've never been a fan of the L but wow...that's beautiful. The color and the wheels look really nice and the overall look is really classy.

Same here. I never really cared for them that much. The front end always looked "meh" and the rear end was just hideous to me, but this one, the Trekking front end is a it aggressive and sporty looking, and the rear end is still hideous. LOL On the other hand, the interior is quite nice, quiet, comfortable, roomy, and it has decent power even when loaded down with my girlfriend and both of my brothers in it. Even with the 500L loaded down with all of us in it, it still has more balls than the '15 Pop did with just me in it, and that was a 5-speed.

I'm thinking maybe a little ways down the road throw on an intake and tuner for a solid 200+ hp and 220+ ft lbs of torque may be just what the doctor ordered for this little guy.

Really nice color combo, for sure.

The new dash is a nice step up, with one pet peeve. If Fiat would just switch the Speedometer and tach with each other, a driver could actually see the speed of the vehicle because the most common speed range would be visible. As it is, the speedometer is useless when you're, say, driving. I'd have thought they'd have used the redesign to resolve this.

I really have no clue what you're talking about. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the current gauge cluster layout. Maybe you should try properly adjusting your seating and steering wheel position. I'm 6'1" and have no issues at all viewing everything in front of me.

On a brighter note, the 500L hasn't even hit 200 miles yet and I already have a Euro+Drive Pedal Pro and Eurocompulsion intake ordered for it.

I have to agree with akcap...the speedo is too far left of center. I find myself leaving the digital readout on "speed" to get that info at a glance. I'd prefer to have 'instantaneous fuel consumption' info front and center; but not at the cost of a speeding ticket because I can't see the speedo easily.

I've been driving and adjusting seating positions for 50 years, from school buses to Miatas. I doubt that's the issue.
