    Timing Controller or ECU Flash??

To start with i have a 2017 500c, Automatic. So far I have installed an aFe CAI. I also have a RRM Corsa Exhaust on order and also a 500 Madness Gopedal.

Question is am I better off installing a:

    1. RRM Timing Controller

    or

    2. 500 Madness AutoFlash

Please no input from the manufacturers. I know if I made a product, I would want to push my own product. I need unbiased input to which is best for my situation. I know Bella is not going to grow up to be an Abarth, but I want some more get up and go. Even though I am 71, my right foot has never advanced past my late teens.

Thanks in advance for all your knowledgeable input.

RRM timing controllers can throw codes in hot environments. I live in SF so mine never did for me, but I have heard it being a problem for others further south. It is predicated on fooling the car's ECU on the intake temperature.
The Madness Autoflash is a different product altogether and changes settings in the transmission module, not the engine management module. The Madness device should really change how your car shifts. It should shift faster and have better torque when it does. It should continue to accelerate after each shift rather than lag for a bit and struggle at the low end of the shift. It should be a very noticeable difference. I had the TMC version which I would bet would be the same product.

Thanks Lammie. I did purchase the Autoflash and installed it yesterday. Now I just have to drive the 50 to 100 miles so it can learn my driving habits.

stay away from tuning boxes. Do it right and get a flashtune from either Eurocompulsion or Speedmotive

Sorry about not updating all of you. With the N/A engine, I think the Madness Autoflash was the best move for me. It is no Abarth, but still pulls good being an automatic. I did finally get the Corsa Exhaust and it sounds great. Had to take the car in last week for the Recall I received from FCA. Since I did not know if they reflashed the car, I decided to reinstall the Autoflash. Everything seems fine. I did not disconnect my GoPedal and they were unaware of it. Getting some custom work done that I cannot say anything about right now, but will probably get the product in about 4 weeks. Some CNC work has to be done. Will update you when I get it. Nothing for performance, just looks.
