I guess the only real competition is the two Toyota cars, so Alonso has a great shot at victory. They still have to have the car last for 24 hours, how hard can it be!!!

Unfortunately I no longer have the Velocity Channel but your post did bring back a few memories...

I was just getting ready to start high school when Ford finished 1-2-3 in 1966- for a car crazy kid it was a very big deal as was the following year when Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt finished first. I thought it was an unlikely pairing but it wasn't at all after reading A.J. Foyt's remembrance of Dan Gurney who passed away this January.

A.J and D.G -God speed - as a team what a combo. We can't forget Carrol Shellby who helped develop the car. Dan Gurney was a great racer and team owner and part of a very small group of drivers & Team owners. ( I think only three ever accomplished winning a GP race on your own car ) And he did it winning the Belgium GP and the only American built car to ever win a F1GP race.

    What a incredible life.

This weekend race was good. It was a bummer that Porsche and Audi decide not to have their factory team . Alonso won Jenson had a not so good race but overall. was plenty of good race among the other race classes.

    Cheers

I'm a fan of Alonso, so I was glad to see him get the win, even in only team that was going to win! This has to increase the odds he'll jump to IndyCars at some point.
