Customer Service tells me: not even "Sergio Marchionne" will help you

I am trying to get a courtesy tow through my Fiat roadside assistance from one Fiat dealer to another because I need to purchase a new battery and don't want to pay the $480 the Manhattan dealer quoted me for a battery. I called Fiat customer service and asked agent Les for a supervisor. Les told me he would not transfer me to a supervisor because they would not tow my car from one dealer to another, then Les said not event Sergio Marchionne would override his decision. Should I just pay out of pocket to get my car towed or just pay the $480 for the battery. I also owe the Manhattan dealer $280 for diagnosing the issue.

    Customer service at its finest!

Sounds like you are in a bit of a bind. I would honestly "pay" for the battery then file a chargeback with my bank once I get off the lot but that is just me being a spiteful a**.

You should contact FIAT Cares customer service line. I know there's a representative that lurks on here. That'll be your best bet than to try and deal with the dealer. If you pay for anything out of pocket, then chances are, you'll never be reimbursed.

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate the advice. I will probably just have to pay but chargebacks in this situation don't usually work out.

When I called Fiat Chrysler customer service that's what I thought I was doing. I thought that was Fiat Cares?

Why not go to an auto supply store and buy a battery. Then go to your car and put it in. Then pay the studio their $280.

A battery from auto zone is still going to be like $200. Might as well just pay the $480 and be done with it.
