2013 fiat abarth double din upgrade

    Greetings All,
I have a 2013 Fiat Abarth, I am looking to install a double din, Radio of choice is a Pioneer AVIC-8201NEX, looking for a kit, however after doing some searching I came across 2, however the ratings/reviews are completely horrible, anyone have ideas/thoughts alternates as well of the radio of choice being a problem

    appreciate any feedback

I'm getting mine installed next week! I chose the Pioneer Avic-8201Nex. I have the Cattiva package in my Fiat so the dash has more of a rubberized look. But I got this kit in today, I like the looks! Yes the Vent covers feel cheap, but they do move up and down. (not directional) I'm really excited! Saw some pics of the Double Dins installed and I can't wait! It's going to be installed next Saturday.

    Here's the kit:

I also ordered the Maestro iData-link... I like the features included!

Definitely looking forward to a review of the unit and the kit. I would love to do this but only if it's not hot garbage!

The Pioneer will indeed fit with the (too expensive) double DIN kit.

The Metra kit is crap IMHO, half the time the Odo blinks, half the time steering wheel buttons don't work. On my 2015 the steering wheel control module randomly triggered the airbag light (probably a canbus bug)...

The Idatalink Maestro is supposed to be better, but I installed that one for a friend with an 8100NEX on his 500X and still things didn't work exactly right. Followed instructions to a T and he also ended up with a blinking odometer. He took it to a shop and paid them to "fix" it and they actually made it worse, causing it to no longer work with steering wheel controls (which I had working)..

As far as the 8100NEX... honestly it's OK but for the price I'd expect it to perform fellatio... The nav is clunky, dialing clunky (unless you retain Blue & Me), it wouldn't connect to Pandora as advertised, has no built-in ability to do traffic updates....

Maybe I'm just too demanding, but I expect things to work 100% and they NEVER do.

I'm in the middle of an install with the Spiral Audio double din kit and a Pioneer AVH-2330NEX.
I used the Maestro RR and the FI1 harness, steering wheel controls work great, no issues with blinking odo.

It is a tight tight fit, trimming the HVAC vents was very annoying, definitely would recommend a Dremel for that.
I still have to get the Maestro set back in a corner so that everything sits back flush, but it seems like it will fit.

I get it is your first post but it is a question and since the non-Abarth models and the Abarth can use the same audio equipment I have moved this to a location I hope will get even more assistance.

Welcome to the forum, hope you find the info you need and enjoy things enough to hang around too.

I have one questions regarding harness wiring. I have a BEATS audio system and the aftermarket radio has a wire labelled AMP CONT.
I don't see a matching wire on the Metra harness. SHould I just tape it off and ignore? I want the bass.
