So my dream of owning an orange cabrio with turbo bumpers could come true!! Still shocked there's nothing really new visually except for Pops/Lounges.

There is a suppose to be major change coming down the road in the next year or two, so my feeling is they didn't want to spend the money on a car that is going to change soon. We may learn more in June.

This good news as it is a way to artificially bring down production costs. Now, everything on a mechanical level is very similar. I think it’s a good move for our market. This distinguishes 500s from other options in the class.

That's great for new 500 owners... its funny though. Visually, it's more like they cancelled production of the Pop, Lounge and Sport. They all look like the Abarth/500T now.

That is true, but they had to perform some sort of triage and seeing the enthusiasm behind the ABARTH brand and the added benefit of offering an entire range of 500s with similar power trains (different tunes and exhausts) and skins (different badges and colors) had to be too good to miss. The standard 500s will, now, have the same hp and more torque than the class leader with a similar footprint and curb weight (albeit less utility). I think this is astute of FCAUSA. I still wish the 595 fascia and tune made it across the pond, but this much needed "field action" is far more important.

I understand that this was the logical course for our market, but it makes me really sad. You used to be able to walk around a FIAT Studio lot and identify every car without looking at the window sticker. Now they all look the same. Gone are the cute faced 500s and everyone gets the same aggressive styling that used to help my car stand apart.

I had a blast with my pop loaner, it was a completely different car with a different feel and driving style. I suspect that as of 2018 all 500s will just feel like slow Abarths. I'm having a surprisingly hard time with this.

I’m just glad they are willing to keep the brand in the states and refresh it somewhat.
I do have a desire for an Abarth right now- but if the price is cheaper to get a turbo in a lounge cabrio or a pop sport- I have to admit it would be enticing.
I just want a little bit more power under the hood if I need it as I love my Sport although I wish they still made the GQ version as I like the rims and looks of it.
I’m 51 so I’m no spring chicken or would be modding my car.
I truely love the 500 and look as it as a lifestyle brand.
The 500 has ignited my love of cars like I had in my youth.
