Saga of the 2nd Year Oil Change

Wednesday afternoon I woke the sleeping girl. What a grumpy b*tch! She had been in the garage for a few months connected to a battery tender. Don't let anyone tell you that the multi-air engine will jump to life after sitting for 2-3 months, it just AIN'T so. I'm not one to grind the starter for a long period of time as I know it builds up heat quickly, so it probably took me a few more tries before she finally stumbled to life. Backed her out of the garage...the front tires were 30 and 32, usually kept at 37-38, and the back tires were at 28 and 27, usually kept at 30-32. Got tires adjusted and put the compressor away. Took her to fill up and the greedy girl took $20.50 of Premium @ $2.739 p/gal.

To make a long story somewhat short, took 4 quarts of 5w-30 Ultra Platinum Pennzoil synthetic, Mopar oil filter and O ring to the only remaining FIAT dealer in 40 miles, Greenway FIAT and had them do an oil and filter change. Total cost $17.52 plus about 1 1/2 hours. Purchased September 2016 - now has 2,073 miles. I expect to expire before she does.

That is some serious LOW mileage! Maybe just starting it and letting it run a few minutes will help, or drive around the block so the tires don't flat spot.

I also have a 2016.5 CX5 Mazda SUV that I've been driving for those few months the egg was hibernating. I just 'switched off' and will be drivng the egg while the Mazda sits. I'm single so only 1 at a time gets exercised and since I'm now old and retired, there aren't enough miles to keep them both happy all the time. When the lease is up on the Mazda I'll drop down to one car.

I was asked once, knowing what I know now about my inlaws, if I would do it all over again. I said "no, I would have married an orphan."
