How LOW can they go? At this pace, Fiat sales will be under 1,000 units by February.

The local Fiat near me stocks no 500s and maybe three or four 500x. They do no advertising that they even sell Fiats. I don't think they really want to sell Fiats, just Jeeps, Ram trucks and Chrysler Pacificas.

I will say that the Fiat service I have had performed at this dealership was excellent.

THAT is pitiful. At least you get good service.

I can't believe that 500L sales were up so much, hard to understand how it is outselling the 500X. My daughters 500X has been bulletproof although it is going in this week for front strut replacement...under warranty, 23k miles. My cousin just picked up one this week for his daughter...a little over 30k sticker but $6,500 off which makes it much more palatable.

I'm not surprised... you'd have to sell a whole bunch of 500's to equal the profit from one loaded Ram pickup- Ram, Jeep and Pacifica are where the money is at so that is their focus and probably why we no longer have a Dodge Dart or Chrysler 200.

BUT, there is a market for the 500 models and Ram, Jeep and Chrysler don't have comparable vehicles to most of them. Wouldn't hurt a dealer to have a bit of inventory in a line that isn't represented by their other offerings.

Can't sell it if you ain't got it (Not totally true IF you are talking special orders; but you get my drift)

When I pulled my Cannondale 29er mountain bike out of the back of my Elle, I was reminded why WE bought the Elle instead of the X. I'm actually seeing more Ls than Xs in the Austin area...no "need" for AWD here and if you're going to have four doors, you might as well have the extra capacity. IF the X had a more powerful engine option, I could see the appeal from that standpoint; but IF I had to replace our L tomorrow, it would be with another L vs the X. YMMV and all that.

Central Florida's international auto show during Thanksgiving was a grim showing for Fiat. You would think that at a big event like that, they would encourage people to sit in them and check them out, but alas, not a single 500 or Abarth was at the show. There were 2 500X, 1 500L, and 1 124 Spyder that was on a platform and you were unable to sit in it (Mazda allowed people to sit in both of their Miatas). Fiat isn't trying and I was very disappointed. Would not be shocked to see them close up completely in a year or two.

A little effort wast put into Alfa Romeo as the Stelvio and Guilia were front and center as soon as you entered. Lots of people checking out the Stelvio.

You'll get no argument from me- it's a great way for FCA to have a full line up ... it's a good fit imho. The market has really shifted- the local to the house CDJR dealer (no FIAT) has lots and lots of trucks (over 90), Jeeps (over 80) and SUV's but few cars and it's much the same at the nearby Ford and Chevy dealers. It was quite a bit different ten years ago with a lot more automobiles and fuel efficient ones at that. The market can turn on a dime.... I can recall people paying MSRP and more on VW diesels during times of high fuel prices and who's to say it couldn't happen again. The CDJR dealer near my work carries FIAT but not many (six at the moment)- they sell more Jeeps than anything else. I check their inventory now and again (I've got the Abarth bug) and they seem to sell a few ... I see far more FIAT's in my travels than I used to.
