What kind of headlight bulbs are people running? HID conversions? LEDs?

I recall reading there hasn't been much luck with LED conversions. The projectors we have are good quality, but something about them doesn't get along well with LED conversions due to the different light delivery of LED vs HID. I think the result is poor beam consistency or throw? That's roughly what I remember.

Plenty of people are running HIDs and happy with them. Almost feels like a necessity if you drive at night often. Due to limited engine bay space and my OCD tendencies my top pick is the rather expensive Madness 500 kit as they managed to fit ballasts underneath the OEM dust caps for a perfect install. Because they were custom designed for the 500 they should be pretty ideal in performance as well.

Unfortunately once you do a headlight upgrade the halogen DRL look horrendously warm/dim by comparison. I'm planning on doing amber/amber for my DRL/Signals. Bonus rally points for yellow lenses.

Thanks for that info. I think I will just stick with some Sylvania platinums for the time being. I knocked out a couple of accent pieces for the car yesterday. Got a Stubby antenna and an oil cap from Madness.

Just a quick note, I moved this into the Builds Forum and left a permanent link to it in the Abarth General Forum. Really enjoying this thread!

Does anyone know the bolt size for the upper bumper skin under the hood? I want to buy some snazzy looking ones, but can't find the specs. Thanks!

Did the brakes yesterday. Pretty straight forward. I definitely recommend buying a spring compressor tool for the pistons. I spent 25 on Amazon. Still have to bleed, but I am going to use Motul 600 (Dot 4). It seems to be pretty good stuff of a lot of exotics. I would also advise getting your brakes from an Abarth specific shop ie. Madness, Road Race, Eurocompulsion, etc. I bought an EBC kit from an online brake store, and the fronts they sent were definitely for some other car than the Abarth. I ended up getting Stoptechs for the front. The disassembly/ re assembly was pretty straight forward for all four. Two bolts for the caliper and two for the brackets on each. Use a breaker bar for the two holding the bracket in place.

I also tried my hand at some electrical work. It had its fog light wires ripped apart at some point in its life, so I used new 3 wires connectors that I purchased from online. Of course I had to cu the extra wire, but my redneck engineering worked out pretty good.

Also put on some sweet rally flaps from Madness that I purchased. Not extremely difficult. Beware!! You will use a lot of self tapping screws. The kit has enough. I ended up tossing a metal bracket that they recommend for the rears, because it pushed the flap forward and gave it a funky look.
