    LXI here
I see a fair number of Fiat 500s being driven by older drivers around here.
I think it is a combination of affordable prices, small footprints, and comfortable, erect seating position.
A retired neighbour likes to delightedly refer to our Fiat as a "jellybean" car. As she drives an immaculate, 30+ year old small (GM?) convertible in fire engine red, I cut her some slack.

I spent most of my money on fast cars, guitars and pretty women. I somehow managed to waste the rest of it.

Ill be 63 on Monday. Been driving my 2014 for 2 1/2 years now. I had a muffler added and run Yokohama tires (smoother ride) and this is my daily driver. My wife needs a small collapsible electric scooter and this fits in the back. I removed the rear seat headrests and keep them folded down always. I brought home a 40 gallon water heater from Lowes and 16 foot long facia boards on the Thule roof rack. I always get a kick out of people who say they need a PU truck because they own a home-I have never owned a PU truck and have owned my home for 26 years! I did start with a 500 Sport but the lack of power on southern California freeways grew tiresome. My car remains stock except for a bit stiffer rear sway and I converted to studs and nuts for easier tire rotations.
