Long Time Fiat 500 owner (major Dealership problems)

OOOOOOHHHH man I am so sick of dealing with people who One dont care for the products they sell or service nor do they care about the enthusiast they work for.

I have been in the automotive industry for 17 years..
my last job (Vegas) I worked at a custom shop that owned 28 Car dealerships (Fiat Alfa was one of them)
I got my 2012 Fiat 500 Pop from OCFiat in Cali on 1/22/12 (7 miles)
I never had any problems with my car other than a few minor things like the stupid arm rest, seat latch and A/C motor..
basic no big deal Findlay Fiat in Henderson, NV got it set and done correctly...

Well now I live in BFE Colorado..
Nearest dealership is (AutoMax Fiat of Albuquerque)
on 5/1/16 I noticed a noise in the front of the car, also lost power steering..
Finding the nearest dealerships.. Denver 6hrs drive, Albuquerque 4hrs plus my mom/dad are in Abq..

I make an appointment and take it in..
I dropped off my car on 5/14/16 to check the items mentioned.
1: never did a walk around with my car, nor did I sign any paperwork.
About 2 weeks go by before the service manager calls me to ask when will I be picking up my car.
I was in shock as I had not heard any updates on my car or even got any calls at this point..

The service Manager said he would call me back and double check to see if the work was done..
a few days pass and I call them to see what the deal was..
I was told its nearly done but they will not fix a broken rear shock bolt..
I asked if the body shop could do it they told me no they will not.

I sourced a shop to fix the problem, had my car picked up via tow truck, the car was picked up with out anyone noticing btw..
My friend fixed it and returned my car to the dealership..

I was told it was ready to go..
    we are now in July..

I drove down 300+ miles to get my car..
and was shocked to find it in the lot unwashed.. dead battery, AND!!! not finished..
The service advisor said he was sorry and told me he would get it set.. pissed but willing to wait I take off back home (300+ miles)

    Weeks go by..

I call back I now have a new service advisor and he ensures me everything will be set Mr. McGregor..
We are now moving into October..
I get a call my car is ready! yeah!!

I go to pick it up.. (October 8th)
1: they put local stations on my radio and saved them..
Glad you liked my audio system enough to treat it like its yours..

2: my ECU was loose and my light bar dis-connected

3: my CAI was on wrong and not bolted down.

I fix all the problems myself before leaving the dealership..

((**I failed to notice my break fluid was nearly empty**))

I drive to my dads and park it for the weekend..
    Drive off on Sunday Am..
My wife tells me I have smoke from under the car not from the exhaust..

I get home park the car and sleep..

Oct 14th I decide to drive my car to a customers home..
about 28 miles from my shop..
    I noticed a whining noise..
before I know it its squealing like metal on metal like a train coming to a stop (But im in motion)
    Call the dealership..
to see about a tow.. they ask me to get it towed to them..
I get it setup and close my shop.. start to head home to meet the driver and get a call that they will send a truck instead..
I was pissed after closing my store down to get this set and now gotta go back..

I was told I would have it picked up on Friday..
    well nobody shows up..
    Saturday..........
    Sunday...........
Monday..... Dude no call from the truck whats the deal.. they should be calling you soon..
    Tuesday>>>
As I see it go by on a flat bed..
(Now that pisses me off..No Call just grab my car? I did not get to see them load my car for all I know they could have drug it down the street)

the next day they let me know hey we could duplicate the problem..
No updates or calls till November 8th!!
November 25th new transmission is in.

Dec 2nd it goes on a test drive..
I get a chance to pick it up in February..18th
I drive it home.. park it.
Get new tires and everything setup trying to get my car back to my standards after being raped by the dealership (No washing, left in the sun/no charger on it)

I had to park it due to 3' of snow..
I drive it again.. I notice a line of oil .. i let it be and step out later in the day to see a massive oil spill in front of my car.. WTF!!
I get a chance to take it to my friends shop with a lift..
    GREAT!
Axel is pulled out.. half of my plastics from under the car are missing along with about 10-15 dressup bolts, washer bottle
this is now going into late march..

I toss in the towel as the dealership is not willing to tow it nor is Fiat.
I wait till a dealership opens in a new town Farmington, NM
My service advisor lets me know it will be covered and he will get it set..
    a week goes by..
second week I call them.. he said he was waiting to hear from LKQ they trans came from them..
his tech notified him of poor installation.

As of right now I have not had a fun drive in my car since May 2016..
My dealings with Fiat of Albuquerque are the worst I have ever had..

The treatment & lack or service are a disgrace to the owner of the dealership and most importantly the automotive industry.
I will not NOT NOT NOT NOT ever buy a Fiat again..

I no longer love my car.. they dealership beat the love and enthusiasm for the brand out of me..
I enjoy the people in the groups and forums but so far.. I am now very upset that I got this car in 2012..

Here are some great pictures for you all to enjoy..

After taking my car to SEMA Show, Motor Trend & CES multiple time and helping develop aftermarket parts for the car, I started the Nevada Fiat club as I was the only person I knew with the car.. now it has 56 active members.. you think I could get a hand.. but this company is to rich for to help the regular guy..
Just wanted to share my feelings on whats going on with my car..
90% of the reason I have not been on the forums is due to NOT HAVING MY CAR TO TEST AND BUILD ON!!
hard to be a car enthusiast without a f**********!!!!!! car!

My car was always clean Monday/Wednesday/Friday is was washed or detailed or both, You cant tell me I overlooked missing parts..
the thing about an enthusiast is they know the car..
WHY must the brand be this way.. I want to set my car on fire in front of the dealership and read off everyone's bad service experiences so people know..
you can buy it with a smile you can enjoy it A lot! but if it needs a warranty service.. turn that smile upside down..

Nope, it's not fiction. All of his complaints have been well documented and are accurate. Fiat of Albuquerque is known to be absolutely horrendous and doesn't give a damn about the quality of their work. The ultimate problem is that Fiat doesn't want to do the right thing and have another dealer take over to get the car fixed correctly. They would rather save face with the terrible dealer in question and screw over one low margin customer then do the right thing. It's sad, but it's endemic of how FCA has given up on the brand in the U.S. in general. They have bigger fish to sell at the moment it would seem.

    Hi Troy,

I'm very sorry to hear about your experience, please send us a PM with your VIN so I can document it in a customer care case for further internal review. Also, you can enter your zip code here to locate other FIAT studios or dealerships nearby for further diagnosis of your vehicle: https://www.fiatusa.com/en/find-dealer/. If you decide to make an appointment please let me know so we can remain involved throughout the duration of the repairs on your vehicle.
