    Has Just Posted the Following:

The Fiat 500 comes with numerous safety and security features.* One of these is called the Enhanced Accident Response System that kicks in after an accident, helping occupants in an emergency. In the event of an accident where airbags are deployed, EARS will:

    • Cut off fuel to the engine

This isn't a unique safety system. I believe all newer fuel injected had to have a system that disables the fuel pump in an accident.
My 2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP has that feature, as does my 2010 Ford F350, and our 2014 Jaguar XF.

Never said it was a unique system. Fiat started using a fuel pump cutoff for safety in the mid-1970s, so it is nothing new. The Enhanced Accident Response System is also more than a fuel pump cutoff, though.

The point of the article is to get owners aware of the system, especially if, God forbid, there is an incident where the system is activated and they need to get their car off the road.
