The weather warmed to 48 and the rain stopped, so installed the MPX hood support lift kit. Fiat seems to have planned for lift kits because there are slots in the hood framing to slide in the upper bracket and the other bolts to the radiator support. A single unit is strong enough to hold the hood up, with both installed it makes checking under the hood easier... and it still slams shut securely.

The kit looks factory and the hood is a a bit higher than with the factory hood support.

Properly re-installed the cowl panel that surrounds the wiper shafts. The dealer had to install a new windshield due to a crack, and did not get all the hooks at the back edge engaged. I was worried one was broken, but they just failed to put it on correctly. It's all good now.

Well done! I'm tickled our '17 Elle and former('15) Elle both have factory supports. Spent many years propping up hoods . Your project reminds me of the supports we added to the trunk lid on our '91 Miata back in the dark ages. Dang spring wasn't strong enough to hold the deck open...and it would fall at JUST the wrong time!

Sit back relax and take a deep breath.
    In the past week:
Car has 108k miles automatic 2012 Sport
Had cylinder 3 misfire, replaced plugs and coils. Still misfire (Part of the spark plug the fell in and made dents, long story for some other thread).
$600 diagnostic at the dealer to be told engine needs to be replaced.
$600 used engine with 60k miles (good deal apparently).
$500 mechanic (know the guy) thats why it was cheap.
$50 for all the oils and stuff that goes with replacing the engine.
    $30 for a gasket.

I think the car is good for this week. Will follow up next week. Im hoping this engine does good.

So sorry for you. They actual charged you $600.00, for a diagnosis. They must have pull apart your engine.

It definitely is a journey, which just started not too log ago.
So about that long story in the original post.
Previous owner or owners never changed or took care of this car in a timely manner so as you all know thing go wrong when they are not taken care of.
Not too long after i purchased it it started violently shaking, so my first thought was to replace spark plugs and coils (i like replacing these two things at the same time.) Out of 4 plugs maybe 1 looked semi decent, others were just rusted and one of them had the center electrode missing. So here is where my "oh sh*&*7" moment happened. I knew that such a big object falling inside could cause massive damage, but i hoped that it got disintegrated and passed through the exhaust.
I put in the new plugs and coils and the car felt good again, for about 2 days. Then while driving the car lost all the power and eventually shut off after coming to a stop. After turning it on it started shaking again, violently so i knew i needed to take out the spark plugs again. cylinder 3 plug ground electrode was melted off. Guess wha didn't happen, the center electrode didn't go through the exhaust.
So here comes the official dealer/mechanics who took 4 hours ($160/h) hence $600+ charge. They did take the engine apart, looked in and said hey if you want this fixed it will cost you about $4500, which is more than the price of the car. Apparently that center ignition thing caused such a massive dents in the walls of the engine that it needed to be replaced.
Luckily i knew a few people who knew a few people who knew where to get a decent engine for cheap and a mechanic friend who didn't charge me an arm and a leg to fix it in a day.
So, all in all im about $7k in this thing now and am hoping that this new used engine lasts me some time.
and to add insult to the injury, they offered me $100 (one hundred) dollars for the car as to scrap it.

This is a new car to me (well actually for my daughter) only had it a week or so.

Today I replaced the valve cover gasket, changed the plugs, replaced the PCV valve in the AOS and gave it a clean with some brake cleaner, did an oil change and changed the blower motor resistor, unfortunately changing the resistor did not fix the fan only blowing on high, maybe a faulty resistor? Anyhow returning it and waiting for the replacement.
Tomorrow if time permits, replace the stock radio with an Andriod head unit and install a back up camera, I know the car is only 3 feet long, but daughter asked for it.
