    Intake idea

First of all, I'm new to tuning.

That being said, I snagged the eurocompulsion v2.1 and a unichip. I got to thinking, the rrm intake pulls air from the front, roughly from the same angle as the stock into the box.

My question, would an extension from the airbox right next to the EC intake (like the rrm) allow the system to utilize a similar concept (obviously not as effective). Would it be a negligible difference? Any ideas?

I'm thinking, cooler air from outside = better than engine bay.

I can't say how much of a difference it will make but if you can make it happen it certainly wouldn't hurt and it should introduce some cooler air so i'd say go for it. I have the RRM intake and always though it'd be nice if the filter were in a canister fed by that same pipe you are considering adding.

      I'll be the test run.

Can anyone recommend materials I should be using? I have some ideas, and maybe make a silicone flange that surrounds the right side of the filter to force air through from the box itself. Really relying on the suction vacuum concept for this.

My guess would be aluminum walls and U channel for smoothing out the edges (and to seal for airflow).

Don't know what tool access you have for bending and shaping and possible welding though.
