It sounds like it could be a transmission issue or a problem from the car sitting for a while. It's a good idea to have a mechanic check it out.

    Cracked my tail lamp assembly

Was loading some camera gear today and cracked the rear passenger side tail lamp assembly. Bulbs still work but I need to replace the clear cover only. Anyone know where I can find one? Is it possible to get just the clear shield part without replacing the entire assembly? I can only find the whole thing online and would rather not pay $100 for such a simple fix. Thanks!

Thanks. I had found one on ebay but wanted to know if I could just buy the clear plastic outside shield instead of the full assembly. However, the site you linked me to has the full assembly for $20 so I'm probably not going to find a cheaper option. I didn't know about car-part.com, so thanks for the link!

I've never seen the shell alone and due to the sealing aspect I don't imagine it is offered. Hope you get it resolved with the information provided.

Glad you were able to get some use out of it! I've driven many odd and rusty cars so buying used parts is second nature at this point. :P
