This may not be the feedback you are looking for but I have a buddy with a 370Z with a super crazy amount of camber. The tires are top notch when it comes to handling and tire wear. Even when the ground is wet these tires are hooking and when he drives them 10,000+ miles, the wear is barely noticeable. I would recommend these tires but im sorry I don't have a ton of insight on their performance. Would love to hear how they handle though!

All feedback welcome and appreciated, thanks! Your friend's feedback reflects my experience thus far, very positive.

The poor performance in the rain was due to a well above average amount of water on the roads. The tires did get me home safe, but felt a bit goofy so I figured it was worth mentioning. On days with average rain they felt great. Sounds like they might last me a couple of seasons.

Greetings from AZ! I'm new to this forum, but I spotted your string. After quite a bit of online research, I too just bought a set of these Riken Raptors to replace the worn, and now irreparably punctured Pirellis on my 2013 Abarth. I'm awaiting their arrival, hopefully by the predicted 6/8, and I'll be back here to let you know what I think. I actually liked the Pirellis, but I found them to be unacceptably hydroplany (Yes, I just invented that word to replace the phrase, "like a skegless surfboard") in standing water, and yes, they liked to follow pavement grooves like a Basset Hound likes to follow its nose. They gripped well in the dry, and even on wet roads, not that I drive much in the rain (Note: AZ), but when it does rain here, it all comes down faster than it can drain off. So, standing water at highway speed CAN be an issue. I also have one very specific place on my daily commuter run, which will be the perfect spot to test the Rikens' tendency to "trolley track," and I'll definitely let the results be known. I will also be a good resource to let you know how they handle the heat on a short road course track too.

I have a set that will be going on next Wed. My company has a wholesale account with tirerack, and at the price they were clearing them out for it was hard to pass up(Install is going to run me 1/2 the price of the tires :/ )
I'm not usually someone that's cheap on a set of tires, but being I don't plan to track the Abarth it was worth a shot. I nearly pulled the trigger on a set of Falken 615k+, but it didn't make sense for how I would be using the car.

    I'm back with more feedback!

They have been wearing well with normal daily driver duty. On Sunday I had the absolute pleasure of attending a "Test and Tune" practice event with my local autocross club and got somewhere around 40 runs in on the Rikens. Overall I'm happy.

Temps were high single digits during my morning session and the tires gripped remarkably well and seemed to hold heat well enough between runs. For my afternoon session temps were around 23C with direct sun on dark asphalt. After about 10 consecutive runs in the modest afternoon heat the tires felt pretty greasy and my times started to slip. (runs were 40-60 sec depending on the course and 30 sec to 3 mins between runs) I was also gaining confidence with the car and pushing harder in the later sessions so that's worth considering. I suspect that they could only hold up to 15-20 min session on a road course before the heat got the best of them.

For the sake of getting time behind the wheel I didn't stop driving after the tires started giving up the ghost. They stayed remarkably grippy for acceleration, a little less so under hard braking, but remained communicative about when they were hitting their limits.

The rubber is pretty pitted from that abuse-fest but tread blocks remain sharp edged with no large missing chunks. The more I autocross the more I want a dedicated set of wheels/tires for events, and if that happens and I see these for sale again I won't hesitate to scoop them up for daily driver duty, but I will likely be looking elsewhere for a "do-it-all" tire once these are worn.

TL;DR: I still love the tires for daily duty and they hold up well enough during occasional performance driving, just don't expect to be competitive with $200 tires.

    Cheers,
    Ando

    Ah bummer.

It seems that the reason the 205/40ZR17 Rikens were so cheap was because they were being discontinued. At least, I can't find them anywhere anymore.

I was all ready to pull the trigger on a second set and can't seem to find them anywhere. This thread is pretty much moot now. =[
