This was going to be a temporary location but after I messed around with it for a week I was really happy with the Sport +3 curve and just left it there because it's out of the way. If I want to change it I can, but I mostly forget about it now that the car drives the way it should have from Fiat....
So, unlike the "Sport Button" the Go Pedal stays where it was last set after turning the car off and back on? I was under the impression I had to select it every time. BONUS!! If I don't have to!! (I installed it, drove it, parked it after my break and haven't turned it back on yet, so I did not know this.)

I was thinking I needed to mount it somewhere convenient for daily selection of my preferred mode. I may adopt your idea then, or even rout it to the glove box.

    Nice Sport overall, enjoy!
Thanks. And you are exactly right as to why I like them. I was looking at just one color stripes for about $65, then I saw these for $100, and I decided it was worth the extra $35 to get "stand out but don't scream" stripes... Your description of the black "insulating" the silver is perfect... That is exactly what it does!

Goodness no! That would be a serious pain, worst case setting would take 6 clicks to reach, every time you start-up. I like the idea of the glovebox, completely hidden. Post back if you get it stretched over there (cable might be too short).

Well, I settled on mounting it in the Glove Box. I took the center console off the car and routed the cable under the cabin filter housing and back up the other side to the back of the glove box, and then simply routed the controller into the glove box.

I just ordered a short shift adapter, when I am installing it, I am going to route that extra cable loop back under the cabin filter housing. I had left the cable there so I could pull it out of the box, but I have found I don't really mess with it much, so I don't need the extra cable. I can reach it just fine if I mount it to the door of the Glove Box, so that is what I will do. With that extra cable, every time I open the box, I have to re-adjust it back in there, as it kind of "springs" out when I open the door.

So, over the weekend, I did some work on my car... First I finalized the location of my Go Pedal controller. It is mounted with Velcro (easy to remove when visiting the dealership) inside the glove box. It is upside down, but I can see it and reach it from the Driver's seat, so it is perfect. It is also clean. No more bunched up curled up cable and I know exactly where it will be when I open the door.

I also installed a Madness Short Shift Adapter. I would have preferred a true Short Shifter, but I settled for this, as the Short Shifter would not have been compatible when I upgrade to an Abarth.

And THIS is what it does to the length of the shift... Photo shows 3rd to 4th gears... OLD (stock) to NEW (with adapter).

Had I been thinking along the lines of doing a great graphic, I would have mounted my camera so perspective and angles for all four pics were identical, but since I didn't a few fuzzy edges will have to suffice. The basic concept of "Short Shift" is pretty obvious. Madness says it is a 33% reduction, but that looks more like 50% to me! Either way, it is a significant improvement!

I also changed out the boot and the shift knob. I bought them both used thinking the knob would be a much closer color match considering it was made specifically for the Fiat, but the reds are SO different, that I think this will be short lived. Some may have also noticed that the rings around the window controllers and shift boot are different... I painted them black chrome. This is something I am considering doing to all the chrome on the car...

AND last but not least, I installed some LED Fog Lamps. In this photo, I have replaced the Driver's side lamp only. Of course this photo is taken during the day which makes the difference a little harder to see, but this morning after driving it in the dark for the first time with the new light, I can say that there really isn't much of a difference in terms of how much light they put on the road. That said, I think they are much more visible to other drivers than the stock lights.

Next up ... Finish tinting the windows...

Thanks! I will be buying an Abarth as soon as I pay off my last outstanding loan... It is going to be my "Finally Debt FREE" gift to myself. Should I only make the payments due, it will be 32 months from now, however I expect to finish paying it off in ~22 months.

    Busy weekend!

The GoPedal set up looks slick, did you have to make a hole in the back of the glovebox? (Sorry if I missed this) It sounds like you are still playing around with the controller a bit, do you have a couple of settings you prefer to jump between? I'll admit I've never touched eco and have just barely played around with Sport+ before deciding it was a bit jumpy for me.

Eliminating chrome, a man after my own heart. The car's looking great, though I bet you are still counting down those 22 months. =]

    Thanks! Yes. I'm counting down!

I did not have to cut a hole as the cable fits nicely through the gap at the back of the door. It doesn't pinch at all, or I would have done some trimming of the interior of the door.

I am still messing with it a little bit. Thorugh I have found that I generally drive at Sport +3. Any higher is just too "jumpy" (I like your word choice!) driving in traffic. When I go out on a FUN drive in the country, I go to Sport+ +1. Plus 2&3 are so tight I feel like I have less than 1 inch of travel and I wind up running at 100% throttle almost constantly! They might be good at a track, but I have yet to find a good reason to go higher than Sport+ +1.

I really enjoyed the Neu-F shifter adapter on my Abarth. I only modified a few things, but that was the one that gave the most daily pleasure.
