That's my phone mount. It is magnetic. I have a slim metal plate attached to the silicone cover on my phone, and it sticks right there. I keep it horizontal and I can still see everything. Works perfectly. I love it because I can set my phone horizontally or vertically or at any angle without messing around, I just hold the phone at the angle I want it, when I get a CM away, it "sucks to it" and it stays there.

It's called the "nGroove Snap 3" magnetic phone mount. I also have it but I added a few more magnets under the rubber piece for even more grip.

I am contemplating putting some body striping decals on my car. I have pretty much narrowed it down to a few options, but now I am wrestling with which color would look best, flat black, Dark Gray, Light Gray or Silver. I do not want white, as I think White on Red is far too much contrast. Red on White looks good to me, but not the other way around... I want the body stripes to be noticeable, but I don't want them to scream either. After all, this isn't an Abarth. I am not trying to challenge anyone at a stoplight with this car...

So, ideas, pros, cons, etc. will be much appreciated.

So, I have several modifications that I want to make to my car. I was going to start with a short shifter, but I went to lunch with a friend of mine with whom I ride bikes in the summer and as we were driving along he looked over his shoulder and said, "So, where are you going to put your bike? You aren't going to toss it back there!"

Wow... I hadn't really given that any thought. I used to put the seats down and slide my bike into the trunk. So, after some consideration, I decided to put a hitch on my car so I can mount a hitch bike rack.

I ordered THIS Draw-Tite from e-trailers. There is an installation instructional video on their website that explained the process very well. The directions that come with it are nearly useless, but the excellent video makes up for the lack of good paper instructions. If you read the reviews, you will see that the hardest part of this install is getting the muffler off the rubber hangers, and those comments are 100% accurate.

Should you be considering one, this one is a very good one for ~$120. I found getting the rubber muffler mounts off much more easily with a pair of plumbers pipe pliers. I was able to wiggle it off fairly easily once I decided to try them. I spent 10 minutes trying to "pry it off" with a screwdriver and got nowhere. The pliers pulled it off in about 2 minutes. I've got no other "advice", I did everything else per the video.

So, no mod is complete without a few pics... Which apparently I will have to upload at another time... My Surface just fell and shattered and while I can type, I can't use my mouse to select photos...

So, Here are the photos I was unable to upload Saturday...

The hitch... I LOVE that the only bit that is visible is the business portion of the hitch... No crossbar visible even from this angle!

The reason for installing the hitch... I found this bike rack on Craigslist. Brand new in the box, and I paid less than half of current retail.

Not the bike I usually haul to the trailhead... This is my cruiser which I ride with my wife and daughter in the neighborhood, but this one was on the floor in the garage, so it was used for picture taking.

Here is one of the connecting points. It mounts to the bumper support on both sides and then also to the frame on the passenger side.

So, first modification is complete. The next will be to tint the windows. That should come in the next few weeks...

Not really a "Modification" but rather a replacement... As we all know the cabin lights in the 500 are not the greatest. So, I purchased some LED replacements. I wouldn't have even thought about adding these to this thread, but they made such a HUGE difference, I had to.

I didn't take a "before" shot, as there was so little light, I wouldn't have been able to.

But THIS is what I see when I unlock my car now!!

Today, I got some help from my son and we striped my car. I am very happy with the result, especially since I did it with my son, and saved several hundred dollars in the process.

These are Ferrari Tribute stripes, but I did not buy them because "Ferrari", I bought them because the price was right (Thanks Eunospeed!) and I like the look of the silver stripes outlined by the black stripe.

Installed a Go Pedal today... It's hard to call it a "Mod" as it took me 3 minutes in a parking lot (it was delivered to my work address). But then I drove it.

It certainly makes a difference!! Now to figure out where to mount the controller...

I routed mine away from my feet, through the center console seam, and it just rests against the seat rail, facing me. I can see the lights but have to pick it up to reach the buttons.

This was going to be a temporary location but after I messed around with it for a week I was really happy with the Sport +3 curve and just left it there because it's out of the way. If I want to change it I can, but I mostly forget about it now that the car drives the way it should have from Fiat.

Love the stripes, seems perfect based on your stated preferences, the silver is nice and bright while providing a nice texture contrast and is nicely "insulated" by the black so you don't get that eye-popping contrast you don't like.

I'm the opposite, I love high contrast, I toy around with the idea of swapping my "invisible" black door decals for white ones at least once a week. (also driving a Rosso)

    Nice Sport overall, enjoy!
